🎩✨ The leprechaun visited Room 3 today! We headed outside this morning and discovered that sneaky little guy had made a HUGE mess overnight — and left a trail of gold behind trying to escape! 🪙🌈
Our little detectives followed every glittering coin around the yard, giggling the whole way. We’re not sure where he ran off to, but we have a feeling he’ll be back! 👀☘️

🌸 Throwback Thursday | Little Hands, Big Growth 🌸

There is something truly magical about watching toddlers discover the wonder of the natural world right in their own backyard! These little ones — just 2 and 3 years old — are doing so much more than watering plants. They are building sensory awareness, developing fine motor skills, and experiencing the joy of cause and effect as they watch seeds they tend to slowly come to life. With the weather warming up here in beautiful Reseda, we couldn't be more excited to get back outside and let nature be our classroom once again! ☀️🌿

Outdoor play and gardening give young children a powerful sense of autonomy and competence — two cornerstones of healthy early childhood development. When a child pours that little watering can and sees the soil darken with moisture, they are learning that their actions matter and that they are capable. That sense of pride? You can see it written all over their faces! 🥰 Whether they're tending to plants or simply playing in the garden, every moment outside is an opportunity for whole-child growth — cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically. We are so grateful for every season that brings us back to the garden! 🌼🌻

✨ Centers Time in Room 3 (Juniors & Seniors!) ✨

Free choice centers in Room 3 have been such a joy to watch! The children are having so much fun while building independence, confidence, and responsibility. 💛

Instead of using a timer to switch centers, the children are empowered to move freely between areas when they’re ready—as long as they clean up after themselves. This approach has led to incredible growth! We’re seeing thoughtful decision-making, teamwork, and a strong understanding of routine and expectations.

They’ve made so much progress learning how to manage their time, care for their environment, and transition smoothly from one activity to the next. Most importantly, they’re proud of themselves—and it shows!

Watching children paint at the easels is always such a joy 🎨

Easel painting supports so much more than creativity. As children dip, swipe, and experiment, they’re strengthening fine motor skills, building hand-eye coordination, and developing the muscles needed for writing. It also encourages independence, decision-making, and confidence as children choose colors, explore cause and effect, and express their ideas freely.

Standing at the easel allows for big movements and full-body engagement, giving children the space to focus, take their time, and truly enjoy the process—not just the final product.
