Vanalden's Second Annual STEAM Fest! A STEAM-tastic evening thanks to all of our students and families who made this night so fun, and all of our Vanalden staff and volunteers who made this night possible!

It was so cool to see our students and families engaged in:
- Imagine Arts Academy booth making animal sculptures 😍
- interactive science of bubbles assemblies--and to see some students in a bubble! 🫧
- Creating cards with cut pieces 💛
- Coding Dash Robots to play a song 🎵
- Designing buttons 🧷
- Immersing in Headsets 💭
- Coding Scratch Jr. 👩‍💻
- Coding Botley robots 🤖
- Designing on a bookmark to be engraved and cut-out on .official 🔖
- Designing Infusible Ink Mugs☕️

Happy Friday Vanalden! We are a week away from our very own Vanalden STEAM Fest taking place Friday, May 1, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm, right here at Vanalden! Make sure to mark your calendars and plan to attend as it will be a night filled with fun and engaging STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities, plus dinner will be for sale! Can't wait for this STEAM-tastic event!

Some of our STEAM-mazing activities include:
- Shows by Bubble Mania--enjoy learning about the science and fun of bubbles!
- Art Booth by Crayola--creating animal sculptures, hosted by Crayola!
- Button Maker--make your very own custom button/pin!
- Coding Dash to Play a Song--a crowd favorite last year that filled our yard with beautifully coded music!
- Coding Botley Robots--come try our newly introduced in The Orchard, just this school year, Botley robots
- Coding Scratch Jr.--what can you create with block coding?
- Cricut Cards--who will you make a custom card for!?!
- Cricut Infusible Ink Mugs--another returning crowd favorite from last year, design your mug, and have it pressed later by Ms. Nickel to be sent home the following week!
- VR Headsets--visit and explore other places without leaving Vanalden!
- XTool Lasered Bookmarks--design a bookmark on Canva, and have it laser cut and engraved by Ms. Nickel on our XTool to be sent home the following week!

Dr. Baca's visit was a powerful reminder of the incredible work happening across our campus and the bright future ahead for our students.
