Over a months time I made little clay koi fish to hold Japanese ink brushes for my upcoming classes. Enjoying the slow, present, calm and thoughtful process of molding the clay in my hands was reminiscent of the very process of Japanese ink painting. Pure joy!

Before, during, and after the watercolor crowds! Seriously, we are all having so much fun. It should be illegal. We started with botanical prints and getting used to using loads and loads of water. It is called watercolor after all. While those were drying, we splash more water with lots of paint in flower shapes, knowing we would come back later and draw in details. I must say wine helps the creative process. Oh and good company and laughter doesn’t hurt either.
