We are still dreaming about Horses & Happy Hour 💭🐴
This event took months of planning, and many helpful hands the weeks and days leading up to the event. Here are a few shoutouts that were especially critical to us pulling it off:
🐴 Our equine events management summer class students flushed out logistics, the student led tours, and helped with facility prep and hospitality at the event.
🍾 Our working students and fall 2026 teaching assistants worked every spare moment they had to clean up from a horse show, set up for a horse show, and clean up for this event all in a 3.5 day window on top of navigating the first week of classes. You also saw them volunteering at the event and welcoming you to the barn, answering questions, and providing opportunities for horse interactions.
🐴 RT volunteered his time, skills, and equipment to weedeat fencelines, powerwash, and do general labor that we didn’t have time to tackle alone in the tight time frame.
🍾 Carrie See, Preston County Agriculture & Natural Resources Extension Agent, asked how she could help and joined right in with the rest of us neurotically cleaning the barn on Wednesday and helping with hospitality on Thursday.
🐴 Lindsay Willey, WVU Honors College, is not just a friend but an outstanding communicator and helped us with the alumni profiles you saw featured in addition to being a sounding board throughout the planning process.
🍾 Our college administrators and Foundation staff for trusting our vision and supporting the event.
We couldn’t have done it without you 🫶🏻
