What a treat to join partners from across the Eastside in May for this inspiring gathering hosted by Eastside Pathways, celebrating the impact of Noticias en Español and the power of transcreation to make information truly accessible for families.
As a proud partner of Eastside Pathways and Noticias en Español, LWSF is honored to support efforts that ensure Spanish-speaking families have access to culturally relevant information and resources that help them stay informed, connected, and engaged in their children's education. Together, we are building stronger, more connected communities for students and families.

"By providing students with encouragement, stress-relief tools, and opportunities to interact with school counselors in a casual setting, the event helped normalize conversations about mental health and increased the visibility and approachability of counseling services... In a high-achieving school environment where students may experience academic and social pressures, wellness events such as this provide a proactive reminder of available support resources and healthy coping strategies." - RHS counselor

With funding from LWSF, Redmond High School hosted a student mental health and wellness outreach event earlier this month. School counselors were on hand to engage with students, answer questions, and foster connections in a welcoming environment.

📚 From discovering new favorite books to building teamwork and friendships, Battle of the Books gave elementary students across LWSD so much more than a reading competition this year.

Students told us that the program helped them explore new genres, learn about different cultures and perspectives, strengthen friendships, and develop collaboration skills—all while having fun!

💬 "It made me like reading more and it gave me something to look forward to."
💬 "Working in a team is better than working by yourself."

We're proud to support Battle of the Books and the incredible teacher-librarians who inspire a lifelong love of reading in our students. ❤️📖
