Join us in Red Bluff to learn more about Measure C, a $129 million general obligation bond to fund improvements to Shasta College facilities. We're holding a Community Forum on Monday, October 12, at 5:30pm at the Shasta College Tehama Center in Building 7200, Room 7206 (770 Diamond Ave., Red Bluff).

Measure C is not a new bond, but an extension of the 2002 Measure A bond that is set to expire. This means that Measure C will not increase property owner tax rates. The average cost is estimated at $7.76 annually per $100,000 of assessed (not market) property value. This is about $2.45 per month for the average house in the district.

The forum will provide an opportunity to learn about Measure C, how general obligation bonds work, the projects proposed for funding, and the financial and accountability provisions included in the measure. We look forward to seeing you there!

The public is invited to Shasta College for its inaugural Community Day on Thursday, October 8, at the Redding Main Campus. The day will begin at 10am with a ribbon cutting at the newly remodeled Social Sciences building and lecture hall (Building 800). Following the ribbon cutting there will be a self-guided walking tour for guests to:

• Meet students stationed at tables and in various locations central to the campus to explain about academic programs, clubs, and services.
• Visit newly remodeled buildings such as the library (Building 200) and Veterans Center (Building 1500) and hear about future upcoming projects.
• Witness the transformation of the campus grounds and connect with the Shasta College community.
