On Wednesday July 23, contractors are moving two modular classrooms from the Killam School to the Reading Memorial High School campus. This is in relation to the building of the new Killam School. The work is expected to occur between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, and could minimally impact some commuters in the area.

The contractor will take the following route with the modulars: A left onto Charles street leaving Killam, followed by a right onto main street, a left onto Birch meadow Drive, and a left onto Oakland Road to RMHS. A police es**rt will manage safety throughout the relocation, and both modulars are expected to be at RMHS by 7am.

During the presentation the Town Accountant unveiled a Tax Impact Calculator. The Town is pleased to offer an easy way to calculate the potential tax increase of two building projects coming before voters this Spring. Joint Community Forums: Killam School & Reading Center for Active Living

Join town officials and project leaders as they come together to host two joint forums on the projects coming before the community this Spring: The Killam School Building Project and the Reading Center for Active Living (ReCAL) project.

The first forum will be held in-person on Wednesday, April 2 at 7pm at the RMHS Performing Arts Center. The second forum will be held virtually on Zoom on Wednesday April 16 at 7pm.

Both forums will cover the Killam School and ReCAL projects and the anticipated financial impact for residents.

The Killam School Building Committee is currently in the feasibility phase, the first leg of the MSBA journey, reviewing a Preliminary Design Program. This program explores various site options to determine if we should replace, renovate, or expand Killam School. By Fall 2024, we’ll choose the best plan to move forward.

With invaluable community feedback, the Killam School Building Committee has produced an essential MSBA step in the process: the Educational Plan. This "Ed Plan" outlines guiding principles for the design team as they draft plans for a new Killam.
