Mrs. Cochran 's Health and Mrs. Klahr's Everyday Living classes spent Tuesday morning at Helping Harvest warehouse learning about and separating food donations for our surrounding community. Another group spent the afternoon in Helping Harvest's beautiful kitchen facility learning how to package meals for distribution. Our students were on pace to set a packaging record. They moved incredibly fast filling 1285 containers in less than an hour and a half. Both groups did Mustang Nation proud with their efforts!

Amazing transformations are underway at Governor Mifflin High School thanks to the work of Mrs. Edward's class, Mr. Selbst's Key Club, our GMSD Maintenance Department, and other staff members! 🌷

Over the past two months, these kids have been working to beautify the courtyard area at Governor Mifflin High School, lovingly dubbed "the secret garden" by our students! These students worked together to w**d the area and tame some of the existing foliage, mulch, power wash the pavement, and envision some seating arrangements for the space. After sprucing the area up, Ms. Edward's students planned and hosted a Garden Party, complete with snacks and juice to show off their hard work, discuss the project, and of course play some games and celebrate with other classes and staff!

While the winter weather is starting to creep in, these students can't wait until spring, when they can redecorate and add even more landscaping! Thanks to these amazing members of for undertaking this project! 👏👏👏

Career close to home or work world-wide? 🤔 Why not both?! 🌏️

Our Tech Ed class took a field trip today to Lasko Products, a worldwide leader in the fan and heater industry that is based in West Chester, PA. Students saw firsthand how Lasko designs, sources, manufactures, markets, and adjusts products to changing demands in a 21st century marketplace. This lesson not only gave valuable insight into the manufacturing industry, but also serves as an important reminder that great careers in the field are everywhere!

Thanks to Mr. Skwarecki and Mr. Stauffer for coordinating this trip-- we love to see it! 🙌

It's never too late to pick up a new instrument and nothing highlights that truth better than our piano class at Governor Mifflin High School! Our music department offers three levels of this awesome course, which allows students to develop fundamental piano playing skills, learn how to play a variety of songs across time periods and styles, and gain an understanding of basic music theory. What a cool opportunity!
