🧵 **NEW AT CDA CREATIVE STUDIO!** 🧵
I am excited to announce the launch of my first **Beginner Sewing Class for Kids!**
As a certified teacher with a background in project-based learning and someone who has been sewing since childhood, I am excited to begin offering small-group, hands-on creative classes for kids and teens in our community.
BEGINNER SEWING: AGES 10–14
📅 **August 7, 14, 21 & 28**
⏰ **9:00–10:30 AM**
📍 CDA Creative Studio located in Rathdrum
Only 3 students per class!**
$160 per student for the four-week course**
This four-week beginner course is designed for students with little or no previous sewing experience.
Students will learn foundational sewing skills including:
🧵 Sewing machine safety
🪡 Threading a sewing machine and winding bobbins
🧵 Controlling sewing speed
🪡 Sewing straight lines and curves
🧵 Backstitching and seam allowances
✂️ Measuring, pinning, and safely cutting fabric
🪡 Pressing and finishing techniques
🧵 Patience, perseverance, and problem-solving skills
Once students have developed these foundational skills, they will put what they’ve learned into practice by completing **two sewing projects of their own: a potholder and a reading pillow!** 📚🧵
One of the things I love about sewing is that students aren't simply creating a project. They are learning practical, real-world skills while developing independence, creativity, attention to detail, patience, and confidence.
Students will bring their own project materials so they can choose fabrics that reflect their individual interests and personalities. A detailed materials and supply list will be provided to enrolled families before the course begins.
🎁 **BONUS:** Each student will receive a kid’s sewing project book at the completion of the course so they can continue learning, creating, and practicing their new skills at home!
Classes are intentionally kept **very small, with only 3 students**, so each student receives plenty of individualized instruction and hands-on support.
✨ No previous sewing experience is required.
✨ Sewing machines and basic studio equipment are provided.
✨ Open to homeschool, public-school, and private-school students.
