Dear Families and Friends,

Both myself and my assistant director, Sarah Landolfi, are no longer with Young Champions.

For reasons we can not disclose, we both gave our resignations before competition and this was effective January 4th.

Both Sarah and I would like to thank our staff and most of all YOU, our families and students, who made the last 4 years possible. We will miss you!

We apologize for any confusion this past week while Elizabeth Holland, northern California director, takes over. Please direct all calls to 714-259-1400.

All our cheer and hip hop locations have their last practices this week Dec 14th-19th to prepare for competition.

There ARE 1-2 practices after competition to finish our fall season and get your awards though, so check with your teacher.

We will be looking for towns that show the most spirit and sportsmanlike behavior at each of our competitions, starting this JANUARY 3rd!

Each competition the stick will be awarded to the town most deserving and posted, here, the day after competition. You have it for the season and then must return it, and try your hardest to earn it again.

The cheer TOWN that stands out will win our YC Spirit Stick!!!
The dance TOWN that stands out will win our YC Swag Stick!!!!

We will be looking for: signs, mascots, town unity, cheering on
other teams, and all around positive sportsmanship behavior by all of the spectators, coach AND teams of that TOWN.

Congrats to our November Coach of the Month: Nikisha!

She currently coaches cheerleading in New Britain and Hartford, CT.

Nikisha has been cheerleading since she was a little girl. She cheered Pop Warner, Middle School, High School, College and in an Adult Semi-Pro League. She was captain of her High School team and a Player/Assistant Coach of her Semi-Pro team. Now she has retired from the sport and enjoys coaching.

"My favorite part about coaching is watching the cheerleaders I work with improve and gain confidence."

"This season I look forward to Competition. I am very excited for the big day!"

Outside of teaching she enjoys reading and writing.

Thank you Nikisha for being an awesome coach and role model for our youth!
