ECS Middle School Teacher Needed!
Learn with the Best School is an ever-growing K-12 private school for students with varying levels of disabilities in the Raleigh area. We are currently looking for an outside the box, flexible middle school ECS teacher or substitute to start April 6 and complete our school year (June 19) with hopes of continuing into the fall. This is an individualized/modified common core special education classroom. Students have communication, academic, behavioral and social needs.
Learn with the Best School is fortunate to partner with Learn with the Best's ABA Clinic to provide support for students with autism who are served in our school setting. The ABA clinic offers both pull out one-on-one and push in natural teaching/learning environment supplemental services for enrolled students who need further social and behavioral support. We are the pioneers of the school/clinic model which presents a highly unique opportunity for the right person.
We are happy to provide training in March prior to the April start date. We are currently interviewing so if interested, please send your resume, references and salary requirements to Jill at [email protected].

LWTB had a very exciting week with the countdown towards winter break! Unfortunately flu B took out a lot of the kids and staff but we still had a lot of fun while trying to be safe and celebrating the end of 2025! We are grateful to all of our families who donated to our holiday family adoptions, gave amazing gifts to our staff and spread joy with breakfasts, lunches and treats for all of our adults.
We wish everybody a happy and healthy New Year please be safe and take care of one another!
Hugs,
Jill

Dear Wake Families,
Pullen Park’s beloved Holiday Express is once again offering two Sensory-Friendly afternoons this year! I wanted to share some details to help you plan ahead and be ready when tickets go on sale — these events are extremely popular and tend to sell out within hours. New this year, tickets will be sold on Ticketmaster. If you have further questions after reading this information, the contact email for Holiday Express is [email protected].
🎟️ Ticket Info
Tickets go on sale: Tuesday, October 14 at 9:00 AM
Where: Ticketmaster
Cost: $17 per person (plus tax and fees)
Event link: Holiday Express | Raleighnc.gov
🌟 Sensory-Friendly Dates:
Saturday, December 6
Sunday, December 14
Ticket links for these specific dates will go live on Ticketmaster at 9:00 AM on Oct. 14.
💚 What to Expect at the Sensory-Friendly Holiday Express:
Lower-decibel music
Reduced capacity for shorter lines and more space
Minimal walking between activities
A quiet area available to decompress
Sensory bags (with headphones, fidgets, and other supports)
Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC) Resource Table on site
🕐 Important Ticket Notes:
Limit of 8 tickets per family
You’ll select a time for your ticket, which corresponds to your train ride slot (even if you don’t plan to ride the train, you must pick a time to purchase a ticket).
You can enter the park as early as 1:00pm for the Sensory Friendly events, regardless of your train ride time, and you can stay through the evening hours. Just note that after 4:30 PM, the park opens for a regular/full capacity session, therefore it will become more crowded.
💡 Tips for Purchasing Tickets:
Create or log into your Ticketmaster account ahead of time
Save your payment information in advance
Sign in 10 minutes before tickets go live
Know exactly which date and time you want to target, as well as a back up date in case your priority date sells out.
If you can’t be online when tickets open, consider asking a trusted friend or family member to purchase them on your behalf — tickets often sell out within hours!
This event is a classic for Raleigh, and the Sensory-Friendly sessions make it even more special for our community.
If you have questions about the event, please email [email protected].
I hope this information may help if you are thinking of purchasing tickets this year!

New Hope Valley Railway has a sensory friendly train ride coming up Oct 15!
Please note, this is hosted by NC Railway Musuem. They are implementing sensory friendly rides for their special events, and we wanted to let our families know.
Keep any eye on announcements to come for another ASNC hosted event at NC Railway Musuem in April!
🍂 All Aboard for Fall Fun on October 15! 🍂
Did you know we’re running two special weekday rides on Wednesday, October 15, 2025? If autumn is your favorite season, this is the perfect chance to soak in the crisp air and brilliant fall colors during our 8-mile round trip through the woods.
🚂 Departure Times: 10:30 AM & 12:00 PM
These weekday rides are especially popular with senior groups who want to see the beautiful fall foliage and enjoy the cooler weather. Groups of 12 or more riders can receive a $1 discount per ticket by emailing [email protected].
🎃 Our rail yard will be dressed up for Halloween, but without the live actors, spooky surprises, or loud noises of our weekend haunted rides—making these sensory-friendly trips perfect for families with younger children who love the Halloween season but prefer a gentler experience. Please note that we will still be using the train horn at road crossings, as required by Federal Law.
👻 Come in costume, snap plenty of photos among our festive decorations, and enjoy the Garden Railway with its model trains on display. Don’t forget to stop by our gift shop!
