Hurricane Florence: How to support the recovery efforts | UNC-Chapel Hill 09/17/2018

Hello CRDM family: In the wake of Hurricane Florence's state-wide devastation, I know that a lot of us want to do something to help our fellow Carolinians. UNC Chapel Hill has a mega shelter on campus and they will be bringing supplies to the hardest hit areas throughout the next weeks.

According to UNC Chapel Hill's efforts with Red Cross, there is a need for the following items
--Non-perishable food items
--Pop-top canned goods
--Diapers (baby and adult)
--Baby wipes
--Clorox wipes
--Flashlights/batteries
--Paper towels/products
--Water
--Cleaning supplies (brooms, cotton mops, pails/buckets,
sponges, scrub brushes, garbage bags, rubber gloves)
--Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, toothbrushes,
dental floss, gel soap, bar soap, shampoo, deodorant,
band aids)

**Many of these items you may have bought but not used in the storm, please share them with those who need them now.

There is a drop off location by my place in Chapel Hill and I was hoping to collect items from those who want to help. Please bring any of the above items to Ricks Annex between now and Thursday afternoon. If you could leave the items along the windows near the front door, then I will collect them on Thursday evening. The trucks with the donations will be filled by Friday, although I'm sure they will do another round later.

Please let me know if you have any questions. You can send me an email at [email protected] or message me through Facebook.

I am also providing the linked article with other ways that you can help.

Thanks in Advance!
Kendra
