Best wishes to Peyton Brown who is heading off to a PhD program in Literature. She taught fiction for the past two years in our program and served as assistant director the year before. But before that, Peyton was a student in our program! We're so proud of her accomplishments and wish her the best.

That's a wrap on another wonderful season! Our 40th anniversary was a success. Eternal gratitude to Lucinda MacKethan who got us started in 1986! And to Daun Daemon who expanded the program in 2006!

Thank you to all the families who continue to support the Young Writers Workshop by giving the kids in our community a place to create, reshape, and share their art. See you next year!

This exciting course still has a few seats left! And students can sign up to win this book: The Art of Creative Nonfiction

Creative Nonfiction is factual writing that has the narrative, dramatic, literary elements of novels, plays, and poetry. The tools and techniques for writing fiction and creative nonfiction are very similar. Students in this class will be writing true stories in an artful way, such as in nature writing, travel writing, memoirs, and food writing, for instance. They will not be writing academic essays, reports, term papers, or other nonfiction of that kind. Instructor: Alexandra Schneider
