Sandy Durso I design and sew animal costumes for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Kids can dress up in these costumes just for fun.

Their Discovery Room uses them for Early Childhood Education programs. They are a great teaching tool as they show animal adaptations and diversity.

2024 - The Xerces Society recently launched Firefly Atlas. www.fireflyatlas.org

Firefly Atlas will garner more detailed and more specific data, allowing for even greater learning about the diversity of firefly species in the United States.

Xerces, a science-based nonprofit organization that protects wildlife through the conservation of invertebrates - collects species-level data on the distribution and seasonal timing of fireflies.
