Associate Outreach Directors Takeila at CFNC and JuanEs at CFNC had a great time at the Thrive! NCHE Homeschool Conference in Winston-Salem last month. More than 1,400 families attended and CFNC was able to share a wealth of information to help attendees learn about planning, applying, and paying for college.

Teamwork makes the dream work! Thank you to everyone who participated!
📍 Today, partners from across North Carolina came together for the Career Development Plan State Collaborative Meeting — bringing together leaders from NC Public Schools, CFI, JFF, North Carolina Department of Commerce, NCSEAA, College for North Carolina - CFNC, NC Association for Public Charter Schools, and regional teams committed to improving outcomes for students statewide.
Together, we:
✔️ Reviewed regional action plans and early implementation experiences
✔️ Identified promising practices and systemic barriers
✔️ Aligned technical assistance, resources, and professional learning efforts
✔️ Surfaced key policy, guidance, and funding questions needed for broader scale-up
This work is helping build stronger, more connected pathways so every student can move confidently toward college, career, and lifelong success.
Real collaboration. Shared accountability. Forward momentum. 🚀

The time is now!
More than 150 9-11 graders in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools knew that when they came out to "The Time is Now" event at Central Piedmont Community College earlier this month.
They got important info about college admissions and FAFSA, and they got to connect with a variety of colleges. Seniors could attend, too, and get help filling out their FAFSAs!
Timeka at CFNC and at CFNC were on hand to help!
Check out the pics from a great event.
