The Mission of the Midtown Farmers' Market is to create a vibrant, thriving farmers market in the heart of Midtown Raleigh, where the community can buy local, family-farmed foods, grown in a manner that sustains the land and our health. Our market is dedicated to providing the community access to healthful food options, and educational opportunities to learn about sustainable farming methods and food systems.

✨ Vendor Spotlight: Boxcarr Handmade Cheese ✨

We are pleased to introduce one of our new vendors, Boxcarr Handmade Cheese!

Boxcarr Handmade Cheese is a family creamery and dairy goat farm. Originally started in 2009, the family made their first cheese in 2015! They continue to be inspired by Mediterranean and European farmstead traditions and their deep love for animals, land stewardship, and good food.

“We believe clean food starts with healthy animals, thoughtful farming practices, and strong relationships — both with our land and with the local farming community around us. Alongside fresh cow milk from neighboring family dairies here in North Carolina, our goats are raised with lots of love, fresh air, sunshine, and daily hands-on care. We focus on making small-batch cheeses that reflect the seasonality of the farm and the character of the milk itself.

We’re especially passionate about creating food that brings people together around the table and connects them a little more deeply to the farms and families behind what they eat. Our farm is truly a family effort and we love sharing a little bit of farm magic with our community!”

🧀 You can find them at the market every other Saturday from 8am-12pm!

Inspired from a young age growing up in a small farming community in New Jersey, Dean began his own farm in 2004! Dean has been a customer favorite and loyal vendor at the market ever since the start of our very first season!

Dean most enjoys connecting with the local community and growing his crops using green methods, watching them go from simple seeds to mature crops at his market booth.

A warm welcome to the incredible family behind Tempest Cellars! We’re excited to feature a winery built on deep roots, family legacy, and true North Carolina craftsmanship.

Tempest Cellars is a family-owned winery in North Carolina built on land that has been in the Burgess family for generations growing lumber and to***co. After years in Northern Virginia, Vann and Gayle Burgess returned home to start the winery, with their children all playing key roles.

Joe is our head winemaker, trained in Enology and Viticulture and working at wineries across the country. Anna has a degree in Environmental Biology and helps with land management, and Kait & her husband lead branding and label design

They officially opened January 1, 2025, and focus on muscadine wines that reflect North Carolina’s native grapes and our family’s roots in agriculture and craftsmanship.

Catch them at the market every Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm!! 🍷
