Concern yourself with the opinions of the hard hitters, not the couch sitters. The opinions of those who care about the organization are who matter. You are just the couch sitters current complaint target. They'll find something new to bitch about and move on. One group wants you to prove yourself, one group wants to drag you down to their level. The couch sitters don't care, the hard hitters don't forget.
