๐ฅ Happy Pentecost from Shaw University Divinity School ๐ฅ
Today, we celebrate the power, presence, and promise of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost reminds us that God empowers ordinary people to do extraordinary things for His glory. What began as fire in the Upper Room became a movement that transformed lives, communities, and the world forever.
At Shaw University Divinity School, we remain committed to preparing spiritually grounded leaders who are empowered to serve, equipped to witness, and called to advance the Kingdom through faith, scholarship, and ministry.
๐ โAnd they were all filled with the Holy Ghost...โ โ Acts 2:4 (KJV)
May this Pentecost season reignite your faith, strengthen your purpose, and remind you that the same Spirit that moved then is still moving today.
๐ฅ One Spirit. One Mission. One Calling.

Shaw University Divinity School Morning Reflection

๐ โThen Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.โ
โ Acts 3:6 (KJV)
โจ Thought for the Day:
You Have What Others Need
At Shaw University Divinity School, we are reminded that true impact is not always measured by material resources, titles, or recognition, but by our willingness to allow God to work through us to uplift and transform the lives of others.
Peter may not have possessed silver or gold, but he carried something far greater โ faith, authority, compassion, and the power of Jesus Christ. Through obedience and boldness, God used him to change someoneโs life forever.
As believers, leaders, and servants of God, we must recognize that God has equipped each of us with gifts, wisdom, encouragement, and purpose that others may need. Whether through ministry, mentorship, prayer, teaching, or simple acts of compassion, God desires to work through us to bring healing, hope, and transformation into the lives of others.
๐ May today encourage you to walk boldly in your calling, trust what God has placed within you, and never underestimate the impact your faith can have on someone elseโs life.

โDean Working.โ โ Joe L Stevenson
Shaw University Divinity School is proud to share this powerful moment featuring Our own, Dean Mark Harden speaking during the joint gathering of the Raleigh Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (RIMA) and the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Durham.
This image reflects more than a speech โ it represents leadership, vision, scholarship, and a continued commitment to faith-based engagement within the community. Dean Harden continues to advocate for theological education that is spiritually grounded, socially conscious, and actively connected to the needs of the church and society.
At Shaw Divinity, we believe ministry extends beyond the classroom and into the heart of the community. Opportunities like these continue to strengthen our relationships with faith leaders across the region while expanding the visibility and mission of Shaw University Divinity School.

๐ Matthew 6:16
โMoreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.โ
Thought for the Day:
Stay Focused on God in All Things
Reflection:
At Shaw University Divinity School, we are reminded that true spiritual discipline is rooted in humility, sincerity, and a heart centered on God. Prayer and fasting are not meant to draw attention to ourselves, but to deepen our connection with the One whose power is limitless.
The rewards of people are temporary, but the blessings of God are everlasting. When we remain focused on His purpose rather than public recognition, God moves in ways beyond our understanding. As future faith leaders, servants, and scholars, we must continue to walk with integrity, spiritual discipline, and unwavering faith.
Keep your eyes on God. Trust His process. Remain faithful in prayer. The work He is doing in your life will produce lasting impact far beyond what man can offer.

๐ โAnd she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their mastersโ table.โ
โ Matthew 15:27 (KJV)
โจ Thought for the Day:
When โNoโ Cannot Be Accepted: Believe
At Shaw University Divinity School, we are reminded that unwavering faith has the power to overcome obstacles, silence doubt, and open doors that once seemed impossible. The Canaanite woman refused to allow discouragement, rejection, or delay to stop her from believing that Jesus could change her situation. Her persistence and faith became the pathway to her miracle.
There will be moments in life and ministry when circumstances appear hopeless and answers seem delayed. Yet faith calls us to keep believing, keep praying, and keep trusting God even when we cannot yet see the outcome. True faith refuses to surrender because it knows that God is still able to move in impossible situations.
๐ May today encourage you to trust God beyond what you see, remain steadfast in your faith, and believe that with God all things are possible.

๐ โBe careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.โ
โ Philippians 4:6 (KJV)
โจ Thought for the Day:
Donโt Worry โ Pray
At Shaw University Divinity School, we are reminded that prayer is not simply a response in difficult moments โ it is the foundation of our faith, our strength, and our connection to God. Life will present challenges, uncertainty, and moments that test our peace, but we serve a God who listens, cares, and responds to the prayers of His children.
When anxiety tries to take hold, let prayer take its place. Through faith, thanksgiving, and trust in Godโs power and compassion, we are reminded that we never face lifeโs burdens alone.
๐ May today encourage you to seek God first, trust His timing, and walk confidently knowing that He hears every prayer.

โจ Reflection: Empowered to Lead โจ
True leadership is not born from status or position, but from faith, conviction, and a heart committed to serving others. At Shaw University Divinity School, we believe God calls leaders to rise with courage, wisdom, compassion, and purpose โ equipped not only to lead institutions, but to transform lives and communities through ministry and service.
Through spiritual formation, theological education, and a commitment to impactful leadership, we are preparing individuals to boldly walk in their calling and faithfully answer Godโs assignment for their lives.
๐ โFor God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.โ โ 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
May this reflection remind you that God has already placed within you the strength, purpose, and power needed to lead with faith and make a lasting impact wherever He sends you.

๐ โFrom whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth... maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.โ
โ Ephesians 4:16 (KJV)
โจ Thought for the Day:
You Have An Essential Role To Play
At Shaw University Divinity School, we are reminded that every person has a purpose and every contribution matters. The body of Christ is strengthened when each member walks in love, serves faithfully, and supports one another in truth and unity.
As we continue to grow in faith, leadership, and service, may we never forget that God has uniquely equipped each of us to help build and strengthen the community around us. Through love, encouragement, and shared purpose, we become stronger together.
๐ May today encourage you to walk boldly in your calling and faithfully fulfill the role God has given you.
