I am on a a mission for the rest of December - my mantra this year has been to follow & invest my time where it is ⨠EMOTIONALLY LUCRATIVE āØ
One of those places has been through leading EFT sessions - in person or virtual, group or 1:1, recorded & guided alikeā¦.
The most meaningful tapping sessions this year have been around:
š self-soothing instead of binge eating
š getting through the busiest day of your year with wins
š finding deep peace amidst tough family transitions
š soothing relational anxiety & setting boundaries
š overcoming the fear & FOMO of changing habits
š quieting the harsh internal body critic

Why I love tapping :) š
Do you know what it feels like to KNOW a conceptā¦but your body isnāt on board?
Like, āI know i donāt need to be afraid of carbs, or a specific food, or of failing, etcā¦, but I STILL AM. How do i let it go??ā
Itās because we need to get into the EMOTIONS (and motivations) behind the thing you KNOW, but are having trouble bridging the gap to EMBODYING.
Maybe the gap is just time & patience (if you are moving in the right direction and are seeing progressā¦BUT need to help find peace and satisfaction in the process and journey)
Maybe the gap is practicing action (if you need to find more compassion for āfailureā and āmessing upā and lean into the excitement and celebration
All in all, when you TAP into your emotions, (get it?? *eyes emoji*) using the tool of your brain/intellect AND your body, that is where the beautiful alchemy happens of things falling into place

āHow can tapping on my face help anything?ā š§
Oh let me tell youā¦. It can help EVERYTHING.
And letās be realistic hereātapping isnāt an end-all-be-all (nothing is!) I believe itās the best combination of the best āheavy liftersā of self careā¦FOR YOU that lead to the true HEALING (ieā¦restoring balance to our physical, emotional, mental state).
Okay, but how does TAPPING HELP?
Tapping is at its simplest form a stress relief technique. Because it is made up of two components:
1. Physically tapping on points that tell your body to relax
2. Talking about what causes you STRESS (or distress)
āØRead: when you tap on thoughts that stress you out, you are teaching your body how to feel CALM and SAFE while in the face of that thought. āØ
When you change your thoughts, you change your emotions & feelingsā¦.and what do your emotions and feelings fuel?
YOUR ACTIONS. YOUR BEHAVIORS.
š And this is where the true freedom occurs. š
(Okay, on TOP of how amazing relief from stress, self criticism, physical discomfort, etc. feels, because that is INCREDIBLE on itās own).
But the transformational power of EFT tapping is that when you calm your nervous system and change your emotions around a situation, you are able to change the situation itself.
The tapping solution comes when we identify the challenge.

I had a conversation with my therapist this week about how frustrated I am when I feel like I am slipping back in my relationship with food.
The phrases āI thought I healed this!ā ~or~ āI help people with this all the time, I shouldnāt be struggling with thisā pop up quite often š
Here is what my therapist reminds me of when I get frustrated like this š
1ļøā£We cannot control our first thoughts. As frustrated as I get when I have old thoughts around food or body pop up (that I KNOW are not true, but they still hook me emotionally) ⦠the truth is, I can only control how I respond to them, not whether or not they rear their head
2ļøā£ We donāt always speak the same language as our brains. When my brain floods me with negative body thoughtsā¦.the issue isnāt whether my body is worthy, valid, enough, etc. Whatās really happening is that my brain is reacting to some sort of trigger and is attempting to protect me.
3ļøā£ We can recognize what *actual* needs must be addressed. Does my body need to change? Absolutely not. Will that fix the issues in my life? Absolutely not. So instead of being frustrated with my mind, i can see this pattern for what it is-my brain trying to speak to me and alerting me that it is my job to figure out what I *truly* need in the moment.
Remembering that healing is NOT linear and that even when I feel OFF my path, I am still ON my path is what helps motivate me to keep doing the work.
