The worst part of trying to blend in is that you are unable to do the things you love.

The ability to express oneself is a rare quality. Ironically, it is the one that is needed the most.

Like the winter sun, I am lost under the clouds..
Shining bright to show the world I still exist;
Trying hard to prove that I am still warm; yet everybody down there is cold..
Its when the light makes its way amid-st the clouds, will they feel how much I burned to keep them warm..!!

Final exam is like a drunken Friday night, you don't remember a thing once it passes by..!! :P

Movies usually portray two kinds of parental images, one where they are cool enough to talk about your crappy relationships and other where they kill you for having one. Every child dreams of having the COOL parent and like most dreams this one too doesn't usually come true. What we usually overlook is the hint of awesomeness in the conventional parents.

1. They play along when you lie.
For one thing they have been in our shoes and they know what alcohol smells like, so if you ever tried to sneak in drunk they did notice it but gave your youth a pass on it.
2. They save you from each other when one of them is angry.
It works either ways, your mom might just add a few marks to your score or your dad might just hid the fact that you just got into a fist-fight but either way they know you are in trouble and get you out of it.
3. They get you what you need, when you need it.
They might never buy an iPhone or that said an smart phone for you no matter how hard you insist but they come up with the most thoughtful gifts that anyone can ever come up with. A camera before you leave for your first big trip or a laptop just when you are about to step into college.
4. They play along when you tease the younger sibling that they love you the more.
Need I write anymore about the sibling rivalry that has been passed on from ages to the present generation.
5. They take you out for a "walk" or "IceCream" when you seem really sad or depressed.
Stating the obvious but they know you from the core and they know when you are bottled up enough that you need that small talk. It can be a fight, a love break or just that you are flunking but they'll know the right thing to do.
6. Your dad might be strict when it comes to girlfriend but he understands when you start spending that extra bit.
We might never realize this but our parents keep a much closer look on our spending than we think. When you start spending that extra bucks, having long conversations at night and visiting your "close friends" at random hours, he knows What's Cookin.. (Sorry, this one's just for guys but girls you's is next)
7. Your mom might not be the best person to discuss your crushes, cat-fights or fantasy's but they know when you try to dress up that extra special.
They know when you start bickering over dresses, your looks and being overweight, out of the blue. They might not say it out-loud but they do know what you are upto and they do buy you the most awesome looking attires. That said, they love shopping as much as you do, so anyhow they are cool.
8. They know the right thing to say in awkward situations.
I remember when I got high for the first time and told my dad about it the next day, it was awkward and I was expecting a thrashing but all he said was "How was it?", which finally ended up in a word of advice from my dad, "Don't get expelled from the hostel, next time" and that was it.
9. They let you chase your dream and leave no stone unturned to help you support it.
Money is usually not as big a problem as the thought of you migrating to another city far from home, the thought of hearing your voice once a day and seeing you once a month. Yet, they are awesome enough to let you run after your dream no matter how fanatic or difficult it might be.
10. The last, They are your hero, no matter what..!

I have struggled a lot to come up with an appropriate article to start blogging and what else could be more appropriate than the thing that I think about the least and take for-granted the 'most'. Its just a compilation of the little things disguised by the love, sometimes left unseen and unsaid.

friendship..is like...stars..numerous and small..
they twinkle and glow..sometimes less sometimes more..
under the nebulous of clouds disappearing a little on some nights..
but can one ever forget..that laugh or that fights..
the dumbness of falling for the trap..
looking down every-time..the sudden tap on the nose..and the smile..
the likes and dislikes..the tease..the ease..
the comfort..the panic..the commotion and the peace..
the pole-star of one's life..always with a prominent shine..
a friend..a philosopher..a soul-mate..a guide..!!

Comedies are up to the last minute a work in progress..!!
