Tuskegee University has launched Alabama's only HBCU aviation program, allowing students to train at Moton Field, the historic site where the Tuskegee Airmen once trained. The program aims to increase the number of Black pilots in response to the growing demand for pilots in the U.S. Provost S. Keith Hargrove highlighted the importance of this initiative, which continues the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen while partnering with local high schools to expand opportunities.

Did you know the world renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers put Nashville on the musical map long before the city became famous for its honky-tonks and slide guitars?

The original Fisk Jubilee Singers introduced ‘slave songs’ to the world in 1871 and were instrumental in preserving this unique American musical tradition known today as Negro spirituals.

RIP to Dr. Paul T. Kwami, the long-time music director since 1994, who passed away last month. He was 70. 🙏🏾💙💛

is American History 🖤
😊

In September 1946, Albert Einstein called raci.sm America’s “worst disease.” Earlier that year, he told students and faculty at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, the oldest Black college in the Western world, that racial segregation was “not a disease of colored people, but a disease of white people, adding, “I willl not remain silent about it.”

When Albert Einstein moved to America, he was disappointed to see how Black people were being treated. Even in his new hometown of Princeton, he observed separation of the white and black societies. Einstein thought of segregation as “unacceptable.”

Albert Einstein rarely accepted honorary doctorates but he did so for Lincoln University, a small historically Black college in Pennsylvania in 1946. He also gave a lecture before a small group of students who are seen with him in the photo. Also taught Black university students but the press didn't like to publicise it as the idea of educated equal Black people scared the establishment.
