Wake NCAE is standing up and fighting back! WCPSS announced on Tuesday the current budget proposal includes cuts to SPED positions and programs. This morning, we turn up the heat on our campaign. We are asking for our demands for improvements be included in the budget, NOT the district’s “creative solutions”. WCPSS leaders are responsible for asking the county commission for what students, staff, and families need!
Join us in this movement to fight for and defend our public schools‼️

On Monday, NCAE is holding our largest mass call yet. It’s open to ANY public school educator, support staff member, public school parent who supports public schools, and any community member who loves our public schools.
It’s time to call out those who continue to take and take from our kids, our educators, and put more into their own pockets.
Join us for this call on Monday, March 16th @ 6pm.
It’s time to put kids over corporations!

Amber Shepard, Instructional Assistant for a Pre-K Developmentally Delayed classroom stood with dozens of coworkers from across the county last month to deliver 2000+ petition signatures to Superintendent Dr. Taylor and district leaders. Amber, like so many SPED workers, is doing everything in her power to serve her students. Right now, Wake NCAE demands WCPSS leadership do their job and ask for what we need in their budget proposal. It’s time for real solutions to the issues our educators, students, and families are facing on a daily basis.
Wake NCAE is calling on district leadership to include our demands in their budget proposal. Our SPED departments are in crisis. Lack of behavioral support, overwhelming caseloads, and short staffing has led to turnover and vacancies that destablize the entire Wake County school community. Right now, we need WCPSS leaders to step up and ask the county commision for the funding we need to support public schools and help solve the issues facing our most vulnerable students.

Love the Bus Month underscores the critical role student transportation professionals play in supporting education. This month serves as a reminder of the daily dedication required to ensure every student arrives at school ready to learn and returns home safely. The yellow school bus is often where school days begin and end, fostering responsibility, routine, and connection. By elevating awareness and appreciation for this essential service, communities can come together to support and sustain strong, reliable student transportation systems for our public schools.
