Anyone else being managed by someone under 4 feet tall?? 😂

You can run a meeting with 12 people, but you can't get one kid to put on shoes. Make it make sense.

What nobody tells high-achieving parents?
Your brain chemistry is working against you.

At work, your brain gets what it needs:
→ Clear wins (dopamine ✓)
→ Defined problems with solutions (dopamine ✓)
→ Recognition for effort (dopamine ✓)

At home?
→ Endless invisible tasks (no dopamine)
→ Problems that can't be "solved" (no dopamine)
→ Nobody celebrates you for keeping everyone alive (no dopamine)

This is why you can close a deal but can't find the energy to plan dinner. This is why you can manage a crisis at work but lose it over spilled milk. This is why "just relax" doesn't work when your cortisol hasn't dropped in 3 years.

Your professional skills (pushing through, optimizing, maximizing) are actively depleting the brain chemistry you need for parenting.

You can't productivity-hack your way out of depleted dopamine.
You can't time-block your way to lower cortisol.
You can't optimize connection.
And no planner is going to fix a neurochemical deficit.
Understanding this changes everything.

Tax season question: Did you know that some of what you spent on your kid's education this year might actually be deductible?

We're talking private school tuition (through 529 plans), educational therapy for neurodivergent kids, even after-school programs if you're a working parent. Last year, families left $1.7 BILLION in education tax benefits unclaimed. Not because they didn't qualify, but because they had no idea these deductions existed.

If you spent money on tutoring, therapy, executive function coaching, or private school in 2025, this article might save you hundreds (or thousands) before the April 15 deadline. We broke down:

✅ What K-12 expenses actually qualify
✅ The medical expense deduction most parents with neurodivergent kids don't know about
✅ State-by-state 529 strategies
✅ What documentation you need (before it's too late)

Don't leave money on the table. Read the full guide here 👇

“I’m bored.”

If you hear this on a Saturday afternoon and immediately start suggesting activities… pause.

Boredom isn’t a problem to solve. It’s brain work in action. Research on executive function development shows that unstructured time builds critical skills that can’t be taught through activities or enrichment:

• Boredom tolerance (essential for college-level work)
• Intrinsic motivation (learning to want things without external reward)
• Self-regulation (managing their own time and decisions)

Translation: When your teen is lying on the couch staring at the ceiling, their brain is actually learning to self-direct. That’s a skill no tutor or educator can teach.

The kids who never experience boredom? They tend to struggle when structure disappears like in college, where no one’s scheduling their day. So? Let them be bored. That restless, uncomfortable feeling? That’s where problem-solving and creativity start. You don’t need to fill every weekend with plans. The empty space is doing something important.
