A 40th birthday. A charcuterie board. A package of meat that had gone bad an hour before dinner.
Three weeks that, in a previous version of these women’s lives, would have upended their entire cut. That’s it, time to give up.
BUT - None of them did.
The birthday got planned in advance. She went in with a plan, stayed mindful, and was back in focus mode Monday. In her words, having a plan is what kept her birthday from spiraling into going off track forever, the way it would have in the past.
The charcuterie board was week 4. She brought her food scale to the table and talked herself through it. Her week wasn’t perfect and she said so. She also woke up prouder than she would have if she’d thrown in the towel.
The bad meat turned into ordered pizza. She had pre-weighed frozen protein and a bag of salad, so the pizza became one slice inside her macros. No guilt and no panic about the cut necessary.
Now look at what’s missing from all three. Nobody restarted. Nobody wrote off the week. Nobody waited for Monday.
That isn’t willpower. Willpower would have lost all three of those.
That’s a plan that already expected real life to happen.
If your plan only works on quiet weeks, it’s not a plan. It’s a hope.
Cut With Me starts September 14. Waitlist is open. Link in bio.
