We tackled one of the most critical skills in defensive shooting… THE FIRST SHOT. After all, that first shot can determine everything. So we got to work.

In the classroom, the ladies put in serious reps on the draw using empty, cleared fi****ms. We focused on building consistency, confidence, and control. Then we introduced “the beep” and began timing dry runs so everyone could feel the pressure in a safe, structured way.

Next up… Live fire. Real reps. Real accountability.

Only defensively effective hits counted. Each participant recorded their best 3 out of 5 runs to establish a true baseline, all working toward that goal of a sub-2-second first shot from concealment. It was fun, focused, and productive. Most importantly, everyone was SAFE.

We’re incredibly proud of every woman who showed up, leaned in, and did the work. This is how confidence is built. 🔥 Now let’s keep it going…

Harriet Tubman, known as the “Moses” of her people, led dozens of enslaved men, women, and children to freedom. She moved through darkness, danger, and uncertainty with nothing but courage, strategy, and faith in God.

She was not only a liberator.
She was a protector. A strategist. A leader.

Harriet Tubman once said, "I freed a thousand slaves. I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves."

Her life reminds us that freedom requires awareness, courage, and action.

At InHER Piece, we honor that legacy by helping women develop the confidence, awareness, and skills to protect themselves and their families. Strength, preparedness, and self-reliance have always been part of our story.

Today we remember a woman who refused to live in fear and refused to leave others behind. Harriet Tubman walked in courage so generations after her could walk in freedom. May we carry that same strength.

Real life does not pause for a perfect two-handed grip.
Sometimes one hand is carrying groceries.
Sometimes one hand is protecting a child.
Sometimes one hand is all you have.

Our March InHER Piece Range Meeting is about preparing for those moments. We are focusing on single-handed shooting with both strong and support hands, because defensive readiness means being capable even when conditions are not ideal.

In the classroom, we will discuss why one-handed shooting matters from a defensive perspective and use dry-fire exercises to build trust in the grip and understand recoil patterns. On the range, we will reinforce accuracy and marksmanship fundamentals while incorporating one-handed shooting techniques, featuring the 2-1-1-2 Drill.

This is not about fear.
It is about preparation.
It is about confidence.
It is about being ready for the real world.
