Statement from Shaed, President of the Society for Sustainable Development for the Rural and Urban Area (SSURDA)
Standing in Solidarity with the Rohingya People: A Call for Justice, Dignity, and Action
Today, we stand in solidarity with the Rohingya community as we remember and honor the hundreds of thousands of lives shattered by the brutal campaign of violence, persecution, and genocide in Myanmar.
What the Rohingya people have endured is not merely a humanitarian crisis—it is a grave violation of fundamental human rights, an atrocity that demands accountability under international law, and a collective failure of global protection. Entire communities were torn apart, forced to flee their homes, and pushed into precarious conditions across borders.
At the Society for Sustainable Development for the Rural and Urban Area (SSURDA), our foundation is built on protecting human dignity, advancing sustainable community resilience, and ensuring that no marginalized group is left behind. Through our relief efforts—including our direct humanitarian programs supporting vulnerable communities—we remain steadfast in our commitment to easing the suffering of those displaced by violence and hardship.
However, humanitarian assistance alone cannot heal systemic injustice. True recovery requires lasting solutions:
Accountability and Justice: The international community must hold the perpetrators of these atrocities fully accountable under international human rights and humanitarian law.
Safe and Dignified Voluntary Return: The Rohingya deserve the right to return safely and voluntarily to their ancestral homeland with full citizenship, legal protections, and security.
Sustained Global Support: As humanitarian resources stretch thin worldwide, we urge international partners and host communities to maintain vital funding for food, education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihood initiatives for Rohingya refugees.
"Never again" must be more than a phrase—it must be translated into decisive, tangible global action. We reaffirm our commitment to serving vulnerable populations, advocating for justice, and working toward a world where every person, regardless of ethnicity or faith, can live in safety, dignity, and peace.

Every new water well is more than a source of clean water—it is a source of health, dignity, hope, and lasting change.

Through the SSURDA Clean Water Project, safe drinking water has reached while our work continues in Bangladesh , Rangpur, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Pekua, Hatiya, and Tangail.

Our dedicated team works tirelessly to install new tube wells, complete drilling, provide construction materials, and ensure every installation is fully operational for families living in remote and water-scarce communities.

Clean water is one of life's greatest blessings. With your continued support, we can reach even more families and bring them the gift of safe, reliable water.

Our NGO is launching a dedicated educational initiative to provide Rohingya youth across North Carolina with structured, accessible Quranic instruction and Islamic studies.
