The future workforce isn't built by schools alone.
It's built when educators, employers, community leaders, and organizations choose to invest in young people together.
This week, Rahway JAG had the privilege of sharing our mission with the Rahway Chamber of Commerce, discussing why it is imperative for our own community to invest in its young people. So many of the exposure, experiences, and opportunities our students need already exist right here in the City of Rahway. By building meaningful partnerships between education and industry, we can connect students to those opportunities and strengthen the future workforce in our own community.
Later in the week, Rahway JAG Specialist Mr. Leon Bunion had the honor of serving as a panelist alongside Ms. Jennifer Bogar Plainfield High School JAG and Ms. Maureen Neuner Pinelands Regional HS JAG hosted by Deloitte. Together, they shared recent accomplishments, discussed the challenges and rewards of the work, and highlighted the life-changing impact that JAG Specialists have on students every day. The panel was followed by an outstanding professional learning session led by Professor Mike North, challenging participants to think differently about collaboration across generations and perspectives.
One message was reinforced throughout the week:
"Relationships are the bridge between potential and opportunity." - Mr. Bunion
Every partnership has the potential to open a new door for a student. Every conversation can become a mentor, an internship, a scholarship, or a career opportunity that changes the trajectory of a young person's life.
Thank you to the Rahway Chamber of Commerce, Deloitte, JAGNewJersey, and all of our community partners who continue to invest in our students. Together, we're doing more than preparing young people for the workforce.
We're creating opportunities that have the power to transform lives.
