For the final installment of our Rahway JAG Perspectives series, we're honored to feature City of Rahway Council President Jeff Brooks.

When asked what a program like Rahway JAG means for the future of a community like Rahway, Council President Brooks spoke about something bigger than career readiness. He highlighted the confidence, leadership, communication, professionalism, and meaningful relationships our students develop—qualities that not only prepare them for success, but inspire them to come back and give back to their community.

His perspective reminds us that the impact of Rahway JAG extends far beyond our classroom walls. By investing in our young people today, we're helping build the leaders, professionals, and engaged citizens who will shape the future of Rahway tomorrow.

At Rahway JAG, we believe the best learning happens when students step outside their comfort zones, embrace new experiences, and challenge themselves to grow. This opportunity did exactly that.

This week, we're honored to feature Dr. Aleya Shoieb, Superintendent of Rahway Public Schools, in our Rahway JAG Perspectives series.

When asked why school districts should invest in programs like Rahway JAG and what impact the program has had on Rahway Public Schools, Dr. Shoieb described Rahway JAG as a transformative investment that equips students with the leadership, confidence, and real-world skills they need to succeed beyond the classroom.

Rahway JAG is proud to partner with United Way of Greater Union County United Way for their Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive!

From July 1 – August 20, we're collecting new school supplies and backpacks to help local students begin the school year with the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

A program's true impact isn't measured by what happens inside its own classroom.

It's measured by the reputation its students build throughout the school.

This week, we're proud to feature RHS English teacher Ms. Elizabeth Graner in our Rahway JAG Perspectives series.

When asked, "When you find out a student is in Rahway JAG, what expectations do you immediately have of them?" Ms. Graner didn't hesitate. She described Rahway JAG students as leaders who are persistent, mature, professional, and solutions-oriented.

When educators across the building recognize those qualities before a student even walks through the door, it says something bigger than any award or accomplishment ever could.

That's the standard Rahway JAG students continue to set.

The biggest breakthroughs often begin just outside your comfort zone.

This week, we're proud to feature current Rahway JAG Leader Elyse Figueroa in our Rahway JAG Perspectives series.

When asked, "How has JAG challenged you to become a better version of yourself?" Elyse reflected on the experiences that pushed her beyond what she thought she was capable of.

Through opportunities like the Career Development Conference (CDC) and National Career Development Conference (NCDC), she learned that confidence isn't found by avoiding challenges—it's built by embracing them. From overcoming the fear of public speaking to trusting herself in high-pressure situations, Elyse's journey is a reminder that growth happens when you're willing to take the first step.

At Rahway JAG, we challenge our students to discover strengths they didn't know they had and prepare them to lead with confidence wherever life takes them.

Most students spend their summer taking a break. Jalissa chose to get a head start. 💼📚

Instead of taking the summer off, Rahway JAG Class of 2026 alumna Jalissa Rayo-Celis is challenging herself in the highly competitive Rutgers Business School B-STAR Program.

Through this six-week residential experience, Jalissa is earning college credits while developing as a student, leader, and future business professional. More importantly, she's investing in herself before her first semester at Rutgers even begins.

This week, we're proud to feature our first employer partner in the Rahway JAG Perspectives series.

When asked, "From your experience working with our students, what stands out most about Rahway JAG students?" Marlon Terrell, Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Linden and Woodbridge, had one word:
