Starbuck's International Baccalaureate (IB) students made an impact this year with their capstone projects!
For the IB Primary Years Programme Exhibition, students showcased what they learned through inquiry, explored real-world issues that mattered to them, took meaningful action, and shared their learning with the community.
Through the IB Middle Years Programme Community Project, students identified a need in our community, planned and completed a meaningful project, worked independently, and reflected on the impact they made along the way.
Students, we're proud of the work you did to make our world a better place! πποΈ

Roles were reversed last week when Gilmore Fine Arts K-8 students learned what it takes to win a construction bid in Mr. Lewis' Resource and Enrichment classes.
Each team took on the role of a construction company and pitched their services to Ms. Kylie Acheson of Scherrer Construction Company, Inc., who acted as a GFA representative responsible for selecting the winning proposal.
Students created presentations that included a company overview, cover letter, previous project experience, and before-and-after renderings of their proposed construction areas. They also selected a project manager and superintendent to oversee the project.
This hands-on experience allowed students to build teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills while exploring careers in the construction industry. Great work to all of our future builders and business leaders!

Congratulations to Stuart, the students and the volunteers who reached an amazing milestone by walking 1,000 miles during this school year through the Walking School Bus program. That's the equivalent of walking from Racine to New Bern, North Carolina!
Those 1,000 miles reflect a year of showing up, staying active and making the walk to school a positive experience for Racine Unified Schools students.
