Another high fasting number? 😩

Before you blame yourself, hear me out…

Your fasting blood sugar isn’t just about what you ate the night before.

Sleep, stress, timing, hormones, and your placenta all play a role.

That’s why so many GDM mamas feel frustrated when they’re doing “everything right” but still waking up to numbers over 95.

As a High-Risk OB Nurse and Labor & Delivery Nurse, I’ve seen this struggle over and over again.

The good news? There are practical strategies that can help.

💛 Comment FASTING to grab my $19 Fasting Blood Sugar Guide packed with the exact tips, bedtime snack ideas, and blood sugar hacks I share with my patients to help them navigate GDM with more confidence.

You can eat “healthy,” walk after meals, and still wake up to high fasting blood sugars. 😩

That’s because fasting numbers are NOT just about what you ate the night before.

As a high risk OB nurse + L&D nurse, this is one of the biggest struggles I see with GDM mamas. And honestly? Most women are sent home with generic advice that leaves them overwhelmed, scared, and confused.

Your fasting blood sugar is affected by things like👇
✨ Placenta hormones
✨ Sleep quality
✨ Stress levels
✨ Bedtime snack timing
✨ Waiting too long to test after waking
✨ Not eating enough balanced carbs

This is exactly why random advice from TikTok and Google doesn’t always work.

You need a strategy that actually makes sense for YOUR body and YOUR pregnancy 💛

Inside my fasting blood sugar guide, I break down:
✔️ Bedtime snack ideas
✔️ What to do when fasting suddenly rises
✔️ Common mistakes I see moms make
✔️ My favorite blood sugar hacks
✔️ The exact education I give my patients

Getting diagnosed with GDM at 12 weeks could have sent her into a spiral of fear, stress, and endless Googling.

Instead… she got support, guidance, and a plan that actually made sense for HER body 💛

And by the end of her pregnancy?

✨ Healthy baby girl✨ Perfect newborn blood sugars✨ Not ONE number out of range

This is why generic advice doesn’t work for fasting blood sugars.

Because some moms need different bedtime snacks. Some need different meal timing. Some need support managing the stress that’s keeping their numbers elevated.

As a high risk OB nurse + L&D nurse, I see so many moms blaming themselves when fasting numbers rise…

But fasting blood sugars are often driven by placental hormones, not failure.

You do NOT have to navigate this alone.

Failing your glucose test can feel terrifying. 😭

Most moms immediately think:
“Did I hurt my baby?”
“Am I going to need insulin?”
“Does this mean I can’t have the birth I wanted?”

And then the advice starts…
“Stop eating carbs.”
“Just walk more.”
“Your baby is going to be huge.”

No wonder so many GDM mamas feel stressed, overwhelmed, and guilty. 💔

But here’s what I want you to know as a high risk OB nurse + labor & delivery nurse 👇

A GDM diagnosis does NOT mean you failed.
And it does NOT mean your pregnancy is ruined.

My client went from crying after her diagnosis…
to feeling calm, confident, and supported. 🤍

Because instead of generic advice, she finally had:
✨ realistic meal ideas
✨ fasting blood sugar support
✨ evidence based blood sugar hacks
✨ guidance that fit HER lifestyle
✨ education on birth + newborn sugars

And yes… she still had a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby 👶

You deserve support that actually helps you understand your body instead of fear every number.

GDM can make pregnancy feel exhausting.
The constant numbers.
The fear after every meal.
The fasting sugars that make NO sense.
The late night Google searches wondering if your baby is okay.

And somewhere in between all the appointments, finger pokes, stress, and overwhelm…
you stopped enjoying your pregnancy 😭

But mama… GDM should NOT rob you of this season. 🤍

As a High Risk OB nurse and Labor & Delivery nurse, I see firsthand how much fear and confusion moms with GDM carry… and how little support they’re actually given.

You still deserve:
✨ A healthy pregnancy
✨ Normal newborn blood sugars
✨ Skin to skin after birth
✨ A calm, empowered delivery
✨ To actually ENJOY your pregnancy and baby

This is exactly why I created my GDM resources.
Not just food lists… but real support, blood sugar hacks, birth prep, advocacy tips, and guidance from a High Risk OB & L&D nurse who truly gets it 👶

Because you shouldn’t have to figure this out alone.

GDM can be very scary and overwhelming like a full time job.

You’re checking numbers all day…
Googling every meal…
Stressing before every appointment…
Wondering if your baby is okay…
And secretly scared your dream birth is slipping away 💔

Most moms are told:
“Just follow the food list.”

But then your fasting numbers are STILL high…
You feel confused, overwhelmed, and completely alone.

That’s exactly why I created my GDM resources 💛

So you can stop spiraling every night wondering what you’re doing wrong…
And start feeling calm, supported, and confident in your pregnancy again.

Imagine this instead ✨
Walking into labor feeling PREPARED.
Understanding your numbers.
Knowing how to advocate for yourself.
Hearing your baby cry for the first time.
Golden hour skin to skin.
Normal newborn blood sugars.
Holding your healthy baby and thinking…
“WE DID IT.” 🤍

That’s the goal mama.
Not perfection. Support. Guidance. Confidence.

Your fasting blood sugars are NOT high because you “failed.” 💛

As a High-Risk OB Nurse, I see so many GDM mamas doing EVERYTHING they’re told…
and still waking up to high fasting numbers 😭

The truth?
Fasting blood sugars are one of the HARDEST parts of GDM because hormones play a huge role.

Here are 5 practical tips I give my GDM patients 👇

✨ Don’t skip your bedtime snack
Going too long without eating overnight can sometimes make fasting numbers worse.

✨ Some bedtime snacks work… and some DON’T
That’s why generic GDM advice doesn’t help every mama.

✨ Pair protein + carbs together
Balanced snacks usually work better than carbs alone.

✨ Take a short walk after dinner
Even 10-15 minutes of movement may help support overnight blood sugars.

✨ Stop blaming yourself
Sometimes fasting numbers need more support, strategy, or even insulin and that does NOT mean you failed.

You deserve more than a generic food list 💛

Nobody talks about how exhausting GDM can feel when you’re doing EVERYTHING “right” and your numbers still aren’t perfect 😵‍💫

As a High Risk OB & L&D nurse, these are the conversations I wish more moms were having at their appointments 👇

✨ One high number is not ruining your baby
✨ Insulin is NOT failure
✨ Cutting carbs too low can actually backfire
✨ GDM does NOT automatically mean induction or C-section
✨ You deserve more than a generic food list

You need real support, real strategy, and someone who actually explains what’s happening to your body 💛

✨ You can still have a healthy pregnancy & empowering birth with GDM
✨ You deserve more than a generic food list

This is exactly why I created support that actually helps mamas navigate GDM stress free 👏

Inside my resources, I help you:
