I.S. 59Q Blazing Forward
Welcome to Intermediate School 59, where dreams and possibilities come to life!
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Springfield Gardens, Queens, our school serves as a beacon of excellence and inspiration.
RAISING THE BAR FOR ALL! πβ¨
Today was nothing short of legendary at I.S. 59Q Springfield Gardens! As a school community built on excellence, innovation, and transformation, we witnessed a moment that our scholars will never forget.
We are beyond thrilled to share that today, in partnership with the Nigel Sylvester Foundation and the Office of Deputy Speaker Dr. Nantasha Williams, we surprised our entire 8th-grade graduating senior class with 158 brand-new bicycles!
This wasnβt just an assembly; it was a transformational experience. These bikes are powerful symbols of movement, freedom, and the resilience required to navigate the journey ahead. By investing in our young people through wellness and mobility, we are reminding them that their community believes in them and that their dreams matter.
Check out this video of the big reveal! π₯ The energy in the room was electric as our scholars realized that "Raising the Bar" means providing extraordinary opportunities that inspire them to think and dream bigger.
A massive thank you to our visionary partners:
- The Nigel Sylvester Foundation and Executive Director Ms. Tasia McLeod for selecting our school for the "Power of Five" campaign.
- Dr. Nantasha Williams and Ms. Joanne Madhère for their unwavering advocacy and leadership in bringing this partnership to life for Springfield Gardens.
- Our Superintendent, Dr. Robin Davson, and the District 29 team for supporting innovative programming.
- The incredible I.S. 59Q staff for working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this surprise a success.
To our scholars: This is your moment. You are leaders, you are valued, and your possibilities are endless.
