The purpose of this Challenge is to get traffic safety awareness out to younger drivers!

It's time to start thinking about Back To School safety. We're blessed to have reduced the number of child injuries and fatalities on our streets, but the rise of injuries, especially for those on stand up scooters, must be acknowledged. If you're new to riding, we salute you and thank you. Please equip yourselves and your families with all the tools to stay safe.
Safe routes
Safe vehicle
Safe driving
Safe roads
Safe access to post crash care.

School safety must include traffic safety. All the time. Unintentional motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of injury death in children.

For that season, we love participating in back to school events, and offering resources on safe transportation for all family members. Walking, biking, driving and scooting all require knowledge about the laws and how to get there and home safely.

Be sure to RSVP for this event at Queens Borough Hall Saturday. Traffic injuries are preventable.

We commend New York City Council on the commitment to safer mobility and transportation for all New Yorkers. A hearing in September will examine 17 proposals for legislation, and Speaker Menin promises more enforcement, and also much needed training for law enforcement.

From our work with injury prevention specialists, and schools, we know that children are most at risk, and account for a huge majority of injuries. These injuries are preventable.

Parents- New York State law states no child under 16 can operate an or . Yet, we see kids on them in every neighborhood. Parents are held accountable in the justice system.

Months before Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy let Congress know he'd block any transportation funding with bike lanes or active transportation, Streetsblog NYC met up with our Congresswoman Ocasio Cortez for a gentle bike chat around the Queens district.

This is a beautiful and "moving" explainer about how cycling benefits everyone, in so many ways. Transportation, she notes is an equity issue. It opens doors to better, jobs, schools, and neighborhoods.

Wish we could hear her defend the infrastructure projects we all need, across the country.

We were honored to table at this event and donate 8 infant car seats to the raffle. Child Passenger Safety is a key part of child safety, considering motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of preventable death in children. Thanks, Assemblywoman Hooks, and CM Thomas-Henry for hosting such a successful program for Queens families. Our workshop was on car seats, belts and proper fitting of children in appropriate restraints. Parents must remember these important steps when traveling.
If you are a community group, school, day care center, hospital, or organization working with families and reducing injury- we'd be pleased to do a workshop or table with you.

We're thrilled to be participating in the community baby shower today, hosted by Assemblywoman Hooks and Councilmember Thomas-Henry. This a resource fair for new parents. Child passenger safety, along with bike, micromobility and pedestrian safety- are essential tools for families. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for children. And, they are preventable and survivable with the right knowledge and choices.
