✨ Meet Our Staff! ✨
This week, we’re excited to introduce Mike Harrison, who teaches 3rd and 4th grade .
We’re so proud to have passionate educators like him shaping our students’ learning journey.

What do you teach, and what do you love most about it?
I will be teaching the third/fourth grade combo class ! I have taught this each age group for the last four of my 22 years in education, and I absolutely love it! Their excitement for learning and capacity to accomplish great things is truly the best! They make being a teacher an amazing and rewarding experience!
What’s one fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is that I have about five different hobbies going on at the same time! From 3-D printing to making T-shirts then over to remodeling my house I truly enjoy creating!
What excites you most about this school year?
I am so excited about the opportunity this year to help San Tan Charter School-Signal Butte become an amazing place for all of the students, families and my fellow teachers! I look forward to helping foster an environment in which the students enjoy learning and are excited to come to school each day. I am looking forward to getting to know all of the families as well as my colleagues so we can create a community where we all help each other achieve such wonderful things!

🐣🌷 Hello from the future Signal Butte San Tan chickens! 🌷🐣
These six sweet chicks were hatched at our Gilbert campus in one of our kindergarten Montessori classroom—and they will soon become the very first chickens at our new Signal Butte campus! 🐥✨ They are already so excited for their new home.
In a Montessori environment, experiences like this are so much more than just “cute moments.” Having animals such as chickens in the in outdoor environment gives students hands-on opportunities to learn about their life cycles, habitats, and development in a meaningful, real-world way.
Even more importantly, it builds practical life skills. Students learn responsibility, compassion, and consistency as they help care for the chicks—feeding them, observing them, and understanding what it means to care for another living thing.
And the learning doesn’t stop there! As our chickens grow, students will also have the opportunity to run their own market—collecting and selling eggs to our community. This fosters independence, confidence, early entrepreneurship, and a deeper understanding of responsibility and contribution. 🥚💛
From hatching to home, these chicks are already a special part of our journey—and we can’t wait to see the impact they’ll have on our students at Signal Butte! 🌵✨
