I remember when this key was given to me. I had just re-dedicated my life to Christ about six months prior. I was a single mom who had just left the adult entertainment industry, and had decided to answer the call and say yes to Jesus.

I was getting cash assistance and food stamps from the government to survive. I had no job no money no help from family.

Just Jesus!

My pastor sister allowed me and my daughter to have her room while I was getting on my feet. I spent time praying, searching the Scriptures and serving in my local church. I used my gifts and talents for God, and then I started to understand the power of making declarations and decrees. I begin to understand the power and the authority that we have as believers, especially when we open up our mouth and speak.

One day while I was in the living room with Miss Cheryl she began to ask me what kind of car did I want? I didn’t know what to say because I didn’t have any money or means to get a car. That’s when I learned that faith isn’t predicated on what I have, but it is totally dependent on who God is.

So I prayed and thanked God for a car with four wheels, great air condition, a CD player, and something that was economical. I didn’t want much and to be honest I probably didn’t think that I could really ask him for much because of where I was in life.

But I’m so glad I didn’t allow my circumstances to stop me from even asking.

anyway, I want to say probably 6 to 8 months later I was at a party with some people from my church. This man that I only met once in my life, came up to me and said he had something for me. He wanted me to follow him outside.

Normally, when men had something for me, it came with a cost. But this man said that there were no strings attached, that he just wanted to be a blessing to me. so I walked outside and I stood in front of a Honda Civic LX that was fully paid for and it was all mine.

He even made sure the car had a tuneup a fresh oil change new tires & a full tank of gas.

So thank you God for all you have done in me. Thank you Lord for the many blessings in the past and all the great things you have to come.

I have been trying to find the words to say to you Dionne Arceneaux without crying. Almost makes me feel bad that I didn’t take the opportunity to say them to your face while you were here walking on earth with me.

Well, here we go

When I came to Living Word, I was broken. I was dealing with church and I had backslid for a couple of months. Dr. Di and I met a couple years prior at another church. So when I start coming to Living Word, I remembered her.

We begin to build a church relationship, and then a real relationship, and then a sisterhood. The conversations that you and I have had our conversations that most people can’t handle.

But you did so effortlessly.

Thank you for being real and authentic. It gave me permission to embrace my voice, and who God has called me to be.

Thank you for showing me what boldness looks like.

Thank you for letting me come to your house at midnight when my daughter started her period and I didn’t know what to do. You were so patient with me and heard me out and helped me.

Thank you for listening to me when I was going through my divorce.

Thank you for your heart to help women that are going through domestic violence.

Thank you for being an advocate for single mothers.

Thank you for being there when I really needed it .

Thank you for opening up your home to me and my kids when I was going through a crazy time in my life.

Thank you for never judging me when I was messing up, but giving me the word and allowing me to partner with Holy Spirit to make the changes necessary.

Thank you for showing me what unconditional love looks like.

Thank you for celebrating with me when I got engaged.

Thank you for giving me permission to pull up to the house whenever I need. I wish I would have taken more advantage of that.
