What: Listening Session for Parents & Caretakers of Native Youth
When: Friday, February 6th at the Coffee for Family & Friends Event, 10:30am-12:30pm

During our regular crafting time, we invite you to participate in a Listening Session to share your thoughts on health and healthcare for Native families with children in the community. This listening session is part of a broader Community Health Needs Assessment that the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA) has recently launched. Its goal is to help PTHA understand the community’s health priorities and help PTHA plan for future programs and services. For more information, visit PTHA’s website.

The listening session will address questions such as the following:
What health issues matter most to you and your family?
What do you think about PTHA?
What services would you like to see at PTHA?
What else would make things better?

PTHA is partnering with Seven Directions, a Center for Indigenous Public Health at the University of Washington, to ensure this process honors both cultural knowledge and public health best practices. Seven Directions staff will facilitate this Listening Session. Together, we’ll identify health priorities, barriers to care, and community strengths to help plan for the future in ways that reflect the values and traditions of the Puyallup people and all Native relatives we serve.

The listening session will last approximately 90 minutes. Participants will receive a $50 gift card for your participation.
