The ability to have difficult conversations doesn't happen overnight. So what's the first step? 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁...specifically vulnerability based trust. Trust is the foundational piece in Patrick Lencioni's work The Five Behaviors because nothing else in the Five Behaviors model can function without it. Without this ability to let our guard down and admit where we need help, teams end up wasting so much time and energy. Plus, it keeps us from having the real, difficult conversations that often hold us back from reaching the goals of the organization.
