Hidden above ceilings and behind walls is a network of cables that keeps our schools connected. This summer, thanks to voter support of the 2024 Capital Levy, several schools, including Zeiger and Spinning elementary schools, are receiving network infrastructure upgrades that will improve access speeds for digital learning resources.

In partnership with PSD's Educational Technology (EdTech) Department, this work will modernize network systems in some of our older schools and support more equitable access to technology across the district. These upgrades will provide students and staff with faster, more reliable connectivity for teaching, learning, and everyday school operations.

Funded by the 2024 voter-approved Capital Levy, Wildwood Elementary is receiving upgrades to its kitchen flooring and grease management system. Crews have begun moving equipment and making preparations for repairs and new flooring installation. These improvements will enhance safety, sanitation, and long-term reliability in key service areas throughout the school.

Crews were onsite at Woodland Elementary completing the roofing improvements, an important step in the solar installation project. The new roofing material will help to protect the building and provide a stable, long-lasting foundation for the solar panels that will be installed next.

We’re excited to see the progress taking shape and look forward to sharing more updates throughout this summer as this landmark project continues.

Did you know? Funded through a $1.7 million grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce Energy Division, the Woodland Elementary solar project will install a 221.4-kilowatt rooftop solar array at no cost to local taxpayers.

Level up! Thanks to voter support of the 2024 Capital Levy, improvements are underway at Ridgecrest Elementary. Crews are preparing the site for new synthetic turf beneath the existing playground by removing wood chips and lowering sections of curbing to improve accessibility. The project also includes refreshed hard play surfaces and new basketball hoops, made possible in part by support from Ridgecrest Elementary's PTA.
