Society has created a false sense, and one most of our parents went along with bc it’s all they knew/know.
Society says you are only ENOUGH if you achieve something! If you accomplish something or you add value somehow.
And success in society is how much money you have, how much you get paid, and your title at the 9-5 job most people dislike.
So for the 30-40 years plus of being alive, “to be enough” means you actually have to do something or achieve something.
“To be enough” you need good kids who behave and a beautiful wife, big house, lots of money becasue that’s what society says. And we all know it feels better to go along with the crowd… It’s much more comfortable.
And most likely the way you received love as a child was when you met your parents or society’s expectations or achieved something, got that A+ or 100%, scored the game winning goal.
Just existing on this earth, as the miracle you literally are, is not considered enough in society.
YOU HAVE TO Work harder, make more, bigger house, fancier car, etc. AND none of that is bad, you can have it all….HOWEVER if you don’t fully love yourself, then all that will simply be another void you are trying to fill in yourself. It’s like building your empire on quick sand, that can be taken from you in any moment, leaving you with nothing!!
Because there is NEVER ENOUGH. The only thing that is enough, is YOU, just for being you.
How do I know? Because I tried your way. I created a private equity fund, fancy car, nice house, well dressed kids, and a wife…I was making money and on my way to making a lot more money!
Society deemed me a “success” and based on achieving, I HAD IT ALL!
But you know what I didn’t have? Self-Love and worth.
I was achieving out of greed, to have more, to make more, to retire earlier, to buy a bigger house, and you better believe I wanted a purple lambo, and $10M wasn’t going to be enough, who knows is $100M would have been enough.
And I am not bashing material items because they are perfectly fine! But when I got divorced because my relationship sucked with myself and now ex wife, my world as I knew it came crashing down, and the only thing still standing on the other side was ME. And I wasn’t ok with me at the time. My self love was probably a 2 out of 10. Which also meant I gave and received love at a 2! (Not much)
When you are always chasing more achievements, from a space of low self love, you are constantly unhappy once you achieve. It’s a short term dopamine spike, and then a crash into depression. Always searching for that next high!
And while I wasn’t addicted to alcohol or drugs, the stress was building, my stomach was screaming for help, which major gut issues. My anxiety was out of control. My frustration and anger would spike at the worst times.
I just ignored all the warning signs and thought one day I’d get around to taking care of what mattered the most (hint: it’s not business).
I promise you stress will kill you faster than most of those other things society talks about as addictive, but we push it under the rug….one day.
Don’t be the old me!
You don’t have to earn anything, be anything, or do anything. You can just live and love yourself and everyone around you. However, you can’t give or accept love if you don’t first love yourself.
The journey for more stuff or more knowledge will be endless and the biggest circle jerk you have ever been a part of, if the foundation of your life isn’t self love.
Always trying to achieve or thinking you need to work harder is an addiction, just like all the substances we can think of.
And unfortunately it goes more unnoticed because society deems it OK. Yet that bash alcohol, drugs and masturbation…and I would argue the stress you create from trying to achieve is sure to give you some sort of disease, or kill you just as quick.
Society has it all wrong, it is OK to achieve and be successful, wealthy, and have fancy stuff…however it all depends on from where you are chasing those things from inside of you.
A foundation built on happiness outside of you, meaning once I get X or Y, I will be happy because it will be enough, then I am here to tell you it will never be enough! Period.
If you are done with the achiever addiction, and want true fulfillment in life, then let’s talk. My signature process for loving yourself is part of my 8-week Happy Dad’s Program.
I only have a couple spots left open, so message me asap “Let’s GO”.
Upgrade your mindset, skillset and environment to upgrade your life, one built on self worth and love, and create from that space. I promise it will be more fulfilling!
