Student Spotlight: Bailey Brewer ’26 MPH

For her MPH Practicum, Bailey Brewer turned her passion for maternal and child health into meaningful community impact — creating reading lists and resources to help children and families navigate grief, loss and emotional growth.

Her work with the Washington County Coalition for Children is a powerful example of how Brown master’s students turn their experiences and expertise into action.

🎉 🎉 We’re introducing a new specialized track in artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) within Brown University’s master’s in computer science program.

Designed for computer scientists and technically experienced professionals, the new track takes a full-stack approach to AI, spanning computer systems and hardware infrastructure to machine learning, deep learning, AI systems and the societal impact of intelligent technologies.

Students can complete the track online or on campus in Providence, following the same curriculum and learning from the same Brown faculty. The program can be completed in as little as 16 months, with opportunities to explore specialized areas such as computer vision, computational linguistics, reinforcement learning and generative AI law.

🐻 Alumni Spotlight: Andrew MacMannis ’10 UEP

From Brown’s Urban Education Policy program to a career in education leadership and advocacy, Andrew MacMannis, ’10 UEP, has built a career focused on strengthening education in Rhode Island.

Today, MacMannis serves as chief of external affairs for the Rhode Island Education Collective, where he brings more than 15 years of experience in education policy, research and leadership. His time at Brown helped him build connections across the state and gain hands-on experience that shaped his path in education.
