Do you belong to a student group on campus that represents some aspect of identity (i.e. cultural, racial, socioeconomic, religious, sexual etc.)? Do you have a message you’d like to convey about your group in a stage performance context to share in front of your peers? Participate in We Are Princeton!

We Are Princeton is a new event being organized by the University Student Life Committee for student groups on campus to share an aspect of their identity with their peers to offer students the opportunity to learn about the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the individuals that make up our student body. We are currently looking for student groups who would be interested in participating!

The event will be taking place on Saturday, December 12th at 8pm in Taplin Auditorium. All participants must be available all day Saturday as there is a dress rehearsal that will be happening throughout the morning/afternoon (each act will have a twenty minute rehearsal time blocked off). Each act can be no longer than six minutes long as we want to include as many groups as possible.

Ideas for acts include: Traditional dances from your culture, reciting a poem written about your experiences before Princeton, a comedic skit about common misconceptions about people who live where you’re from etc.

Please contact student-coordinator Zinna Senbetta ([email protected]) if you are interested along with a brief description of what you would like to present.

International Cultural Night 02/17/2015
01/28/2015

Hey everyone!

As we have mentioned at an earlier date, ISAP is hosting an International Cultural Night on which you all get to participate and showcase your cultures. We will have different performances by campus groups, and we will have many different international cuisines from Nassau Street and beyond as well. But really, this event is about YOU! If you are an international student, please think of ways in which you can represent your country and show off your culture and fill out this form by February 3rd (the sooner the better though).

This will be a great way to share your culture with others, and learn from their cultures, too, so please think about this! We hope to see you all there! :)

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a restful and fun break!

The International Cultural Night planning team is getting ready to throw a big party at the beginning of Spring semester. You are all cordially invited to not only attend, but also show off your cultures. The show includes a cultural fashion show in which students can showcase their cultures. We are writing to remind those of you who have gone home for the break to bring your cultural clothes with you when you come back to campus. We are also planning to have performances (dance, vocal, etc) so if you are interested, please contact the planning team (listed at the end of this e-mail).

We are very excited to plan this event, but since it's a big one, it will need a lot of effort. We would appreciate any assistance. Please e-mail Tarikua Erda (terda@) if you are interested in helping out!

Cheers,
International Cultural Night Planning Team
