the three winners of the Rowan University Wind Ensemble and Wildflower Composers collaboration commission: alums Addison Hill (Festival ‘20, ‘21), Dianna Link (Festival ‘20), and Xinyuan Deng (Virtual Mini Courses ‘25)!
Their new pieces will receive world premieres this season.

Congratulations to Xinyuan Deng! 🌸
Xinyuan Deng is a Chinese composer, pianist, and sound artist, and is currently a doctoral candidate in composition at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. Her work spans acoustic, electroacoustic, and multimedia forms, exploring sound, space, and perception through immersive sonic textures. Her music has been performed internationally by PHACE, Zhejiang Symphony, Harbin Symphony, and ENSEMBLE CONCEPT/21, with recent honors including the ACO EarShot Readings and the Morris and Sheila Hass Award in Computer Music.

Addison Hill is an artist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and educator from Phoenix, Arizona. Her work collages together different mediums, stories, and sonic possibilities to create experiences that strive for emotional liberation and connection. Hill received her Bachelors of Music in Music Composition from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Music Composition at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she teaches Intro to Music Technology.

Enchanted by the Rocky Mountains, composer Dianna Link writes music driven by narrative and nature. Her music is often influenced by rock, pop, Irish folk music, and storytelling. Link has collaborated with numerous ensembles including; the GRAMMY®️ Award winning Akropolis Reed Quintet, Colorado Symphony, Ivalas Quartet, and ~ Nois. She is a 2024/25 Bouman fellow with the Kinds of Kings composer collective, and is a featured composer for the 30x30x30 project with SOLI Chamber Ensemble.
