Startalk Hindi-Urdu Camp West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District in collaboration with New York University offers an

West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District in collaboration with New York University proposes a summertime STARTALK student program for both Hindi and Urdu languages. The classes will be offered to 80 students, heritage and non-heritage learners alike, from 6th grade to 12th grade. The proficiency level of the students will vary from novice to advanced for both Hindi and Urdu languages, depe

nding upon the exposure to the language at home or in the community and also prior learning of the language in community schools or back home in India or Pakistan. At intermediate and advanced levels, placement of the students will be based on the loose format of OPI given to the students and also on the reading and writing tasks given to them before they start the camp. A typical camp day will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for 10 days. Instructional hours will focus on learning the literacy skills which students will take beyond classrooms and learn to apply in real life situations. Highly qualified teachers will make the program engaging and challenging.

We greatly appreciate WWP community education for facilitating the opportunity for offering Hindi online classes during summer program. Check it out under community education. Students from anywhere in United States can register for these classes through community pass.

We’ve heard you loud and clear, Startalkers! After the overwhelming success of our summer immersion program and the eager responses to our post-program sessions, we’re extremely pleased to announce the addition of several NEW classes: ★ Hindi section, Godavari Class — Mondays 4:45-6:00 PM; ★ Hindi section, Satluj Class — Mondays 5:00-6:15 PM; ★ Urdu section, Manchar Class — Thursdays 4:30-5:45 PM. Please note that these sections are for new enrollees, and no previous knowledge of Hindi or Urdu is required. Students who attended our summer program should continue in their respective classes. We ask you to please share this news with your interested friends and contacts! New students will receive fifteen free synchronous lessons; most sessions begin November 1st, but please see our calendar for more details. Demand is high and space is extremely limited!
