Aroostook Spring Sportsman's Show
Join us to make a difference! Our event funds community activities, educates on safe sports, and sends kids to camp.
In 2024, with our sponsors and attendees' help, we sent eleven kids to summer camp. Volunteer, attend, and support our tradition!
We’re going strong until 5 PM! Join us at the Sportsman Show to connect with your community, meet new faces, and explore all the fun and adventure we have to offer. Be sure to bring the kids to try their luck at the trout pond!

🌿 National Invasive Species Awareness Week 🌿
We're sharing information to help you protect our local waters!
One aquatic invasive species found in the Green River Region is Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria).
Purple Loosestrife is an invasive, emergent flowering plant that can grow up to 6 feet tall and form extensive colonial stands. The flowers are reddish-purple with six petals and 12 stamens, clustered along the leaf axils.
👀 If you see something, say something.
We need your help locating this species in our region. If you believe you’ve found Purple Loosestrife, you can call or email to report it (1-800-858-1549 & [email protected]). You can also submit observations through our Kentucky ANS project on iNaturalist.
Help Prevent the Spread: Clean, Drain, Dry
Together, we can protect the waters of the Green River Region.

How you ride determines the future of Maine's 13,000 miles of snowmobile trails. Access is a gift, not a right.
💚More than 85% of Maine's snowmobile trails are on private land.
🌲Logging operations are underway. Use caution, and respect trail signs.
✅Snowmobile registration fees fund trail maintenance. Please support local clubs and landowners!
A safe day on the trail is a great day on the trail.
Always drive to the right, and at an appropriate speed for your experience and the conditions. Never drink and ride. Stay alert and aware of other riders, recreators, and wildlife on the trail.

Biological research and surveys, game registration stations, community science, and more, all produce a constant flow of data into MDIFW. This massive amount of wildlife and habitat data must be compiled, managed, and distributed. It’s a technological uphill battle tackled by our Data Administration Group behind the scenes.
Among large-scale data migrations, database updates, and streamlining digital processes, our Data Administration Group also develops new data collection tools. They are the reason it is now easier for community scientists to participate in conservation. Seen here is a tagged landlocked salmon that can now be quickly reported online if caught by an angler.
Geek out with a deeper dive into data management in the Habitat and Land Conservation section of the 2023-2024 Research and Management Report at mefishwildlife.com/wildlifereport.
