A heartbreaking loss for Yavapai County. The historic Barlow-Massicks House—often known as the “Castle on the Creek” near Fain Park—has been lost to fire.
Built in the late 1800s by British engineer and mining entrepreneur Thomas Gibson Barlow-Massicks, the home was once considered one of the grandest residences in the Arizona Territory. Designed as a Victorian manor for entertaining, it featured rare luxuries for its time, including a ballroom and wine cellar.
