A very delicious week in World History Through Food—Chinese potstickers! Historically we are still learning (and cooking!) about early civilizations and early empires. We’ve studied and cooked foods from ancient Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt, ancient China, and (after Thanksgiving break) ancient India,
and Mesoamerica.

This week students worked on their dumpling-making skills and we learned why they are called potstickers. They turned out so yummy!!

GRRR!!! Greetings, Tigers! As we approach winter and begin to deal with snow and ice, here is a review of our procedures for school delays and closures.
Student and staff safety are our highest priority. Our school district covers a wide territory with many micro-climates. Weather conditions can vary greatly from place to place.
We will make and report all 2 hour delay and school closure decisions no later than 5:30 AM
We send the information out by text and post it on the website and Facebook. Please make sure we have your most currrent contact number on file. We also send information to local TV and radio stations. Please contact the school at 509.849.2217 if you have any questions. GRRR and BRRR!!!

Wednesday evening was the fall sports awards banquet to recognize our high school soccer and volleyball teams. There was a great turnout as athletes and their families came together to celebrate their hard work and achievement.

We are excited to bring Youth Mental Health First Aid Training to our Spanish-speaking community. We have a fully Spanish language training planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Highlands Middle School in Kennewick. This training is aimed at parents and adults who work with youth. This is a free training with lunch and childcare provided.
