Summer 2026 is a wrap! Three residential camps (Camp Third Coast, Jr. Youth Lab, and Youth Lab) left everyone with a lifetime of memories. We hiked, soared through the sky, fished, kayaked, danced (everyone’s favorite was Michael Jackson, of course), and bonded with people we’d just met. Thank you, Texas 4-H Center- Brownwood, for an amazing summer. The PVAMU Extension 4-H State Photography contest is entering its sixth year. Be a part of the fun by entering up to three photos into the contest by the deadline of July 31, 2026. This contest is open to youths who reside in the state of Texas and were in grades K-8 in the 2025-2026 school year. There is no fee to enter this contest. For more information, please contact your local PVAMU 4-H agent or the contest coordinator, Mr. Nathan Tucker at [email protected]

PVAMU 4-H is excited to announce that two of our signature summer programs will be hosted at the Texas 4-H Conference Center in Brownwood this year.

Camp Third Coast | June 18–20
For Rising 5th–6th Grade Students

Camp Third Coast offers youth an engaging, hands-on residential camp experience focused on environmental science.

Participants will explore real-world applications through interactive and experiential learning designed to build knowledge, leadership, and confidence.

Campers will also enjoy a variety of exciting activities at the Texas 4-H Conference Center, including archery, ziplining, ropes courses, kayaking, fishing, swimming, team-building, shooting sports, and other outdoor recreation.

We had a great day with Harris County AgriLife and Precinct 3–Tomball at Burroughs Park. Thank you to all of our 4-H’ers who came, fished, petted goats, kangaroos, and even a bearded dragon. It was great to have our own fishing expert, Jose Cavazos (Ft. Bend County), to guide us.

4-H'ers, ready to take it to the next level this summer?

Join the 2026 PVAMU 4-H AG-venture Youth Lab — where college, careers, and hands-on experiences come together.

Participants will spend one day and night on the PVAMU campus, with the remaining days at the Texas 4-H Conference Center in Brownwood, TX.

Camp is FREE! Transportation is provided.

July 19–24
Grades 9–12

Space is limited.
