Our High Shcool Class had the priviledge of presenting a second Lucia Program, this time at the Poulsbo Sammendra Folk Dancers Christmas Party. It was once again a beautiful evening. At the end of the program former Leikarringen Lucias were asked to join the procession and we were all a little surprised to see how many former Lucias were in attendance. It is encouraging to see so many of our dancers carry their love for the tradition into adulthood.

When the Lucia presentation concluded (see previous post) the chairs were cleared, the tree was moved to the center of the room and the merriment began, continuing the Scandinavian tradition of walking/dancing around the Christmas tree singing Christmas songs.

The Marine Room at the Poulsbo Sons of Norway was filled nearly to capacity this Monday for Leikarringen's annual Lucia Program. The evening's festivities included a dance performance from each of our six classes followed by the Lucia Procession. The evening concluded with dancers, friends and families dancing and singing around the Christmas Tree. (more pics to come...)

Come to the Nordic Market tomorrow, 10-4, and get your homemade traditional potato lefse.
Over two days, our high school dancers dedicated their time to hand-crafting delicious lefse.
It was a labor of love: one day was spent meticulously peeling, boiling, and ricing 130 pounds of potatoes, and the next day involved mixing, rolling, and grilling 62 dozen rounds.
We are so excited to share the results of their hard work with you!
We hope to see you tomorrow!
