‘First Friday’ Happy Hour the pottery studio tomorrow (June 6th) from 4:30-6:30. Feel free to bring a drink or munchie or just yourself and stop in. First Fridays of the month are a good time for our ceramics community and friends to mix and mingle. Come check out our new studio and enjoy some camaraderie.

•Bring Dad in this weekend to glaze paint a mug or a heart shaped box with Cassie on Saturday 3-5:00. Pieces will be fired in time for Father’s Day. $20 per mug/ piece covers all costs. Thank you,Janel Smith, for bringing your boys in this past weekend. Shhhhh- don’t tell their Dad!

New to pottery or ready to get get your hands dirty again? Here’s your chance!

Come join Emily Garland, a Potsdam High School Art Teacher, in a 3-week ‘Sgrafitto ‘ class designed for those with no experience or those wanting to improve their skills on the pottery wheel. Sgrafitto comes from an Italian word meaning ‘to scratch.’ It is a decorative technique where the first layer of clay/ glaze is carved away to jazz up the surface of the piece. This class will introduce/ reinforce throwing techniques including centering, pulling, trimming, and glazing.

Dates/ times: Tuesday evenings June 3, June 10, and June 17 from 6:00-8:30 (which includes 15 minutes of clean up time).

Cost: $150, which includes 5 lbs clay (additional clay available for purchase), free use of open studio for the weeks enrolled in the class, a 5-hour punch card at end of the session to use to finish up pieces (a $40 value), and firing of 2 finished pieces (additional pieces fired for $1/inch).

Please text 315-250-4494 to reserve your spot. The non-refundable payment of $150 is due by May 27th to secure your seat in the the class.

We are CLOSED for the Memorial Day Weekend. We will reopen on Tuesday for regular hours (1-6). Have a great weekend everyone! BTW, it is my daughter’s and mother’s birthdays so it’s a weekend our family traditionally spends together. Enjoy your own families or independent activities this weekend! See you next week and hopefully next weeked for our Pottery Palooza Sale Friday 5-9 and Saturday 11-5. Come buy some homemade pottery and support your local ‘pot’ dealers - LOL!
