We just had such a wonderful visit to Michigan with close friends Aman & Mike - and of course, their adorable puppy Bibi! They live near Lake Michigan, which gave us a chance to frolick on the "Third Coast" and plan for future beachy visits with our child, hopefully soon! 😀🐶🌞

What a gorgeous Sunday we just enjoyed in the DC area! ☀️ We had so much fun spending the afternoon hiking and scrambling up rocks along the Billy Goat trail at Great Falls. Sahar can't wait to teach our kid how to skip pebbles along the river's surface & Sapna looks forward to identifying all the lovely trees and flowers with them! 🌳🍃🌺

We've had the opportunity for some *wonderful* family road trips this summer! Here's us enjoying strawberry picking, and hiking to lovely lakes & reservoirs nestled in the green mountains of Vermont. We simply can't wait to meet our child and have them join fun family adventures soon! 🍓🏔️🚘

Mothering takes many forms. As we continue to wait anxiously for our child to find us, we want to take a moment to recognize birth mothers, foster mothers, adoptive mothers and all those who parent in various forms! We're grateful too, for our nieces, nephews, and other incredible young people in our lives whom we've had an opportunity to parent. ❤️🌺🌻🌸🌹

waiting for you to make the journey
so that we can be together
is one of the hardest waits ever

sometimes i feel i hear you
pitter patter
when i hear the rustle of the wind through the trees
or the drumbeat of my favorite song

sometimes i worry for your safety
as you may have to cross rivers
or oceans
and i hope for your vessel to be strong

there's a confluence of birds singing
and i think maybe i hear
your giggle
among them

how strange it is to feel a love this deep
and to pray for your safety
and long for your arrival
when we haven't even met yet...
or have we?

We were so excited to be featured on Inside Out LGBT Radio last month! In addition to being the host of this radio show, Michael Sharp and his husband are adoptive parents to an adorable little boy, who we had the pleasure to meet at the interview along with another lovely adoptive family who has just matched with their child. It was wonderful to be able to speak about the hope we have to grow our family, and receive warm encouragement from everyone there!

We can't wait for our child to join us in fun holiday celebrations throughout the year! This past weekend, we had the opportunity to share in delicious food, sparkly lights, lots of laughs and love as we celebrated Diwali with our family and friends 🎆🎆🎆

We've carved our pumpkins with three things we hold dear -- Peace, Love & Happiness!! We look forward to seeing all the children in costume at our neighborhood Halloween block party this year, and can't wait till our child can enjoy the fun of bobbing for apples and the costume contest there themselves!
