So our maple syrup made it all the way to TAIWAN!!! It is so exciting. A teacher friend of mine bought a few bottles of maple syrup so that she could send them to 4 of her pen pal schools around the world. She recently got this picture from Chaipei Elementary School in Chiayi City. The teacher in the picture is a guest teacher from South Africa. The teacher and students were so excited to try our syrup. It is so cool to think that our maple syrup is going all over the world.

Congratulations to the Lister Academy Maple Maker program for their 3rd place achievement in the Tucker Mt. Challenge! All of the hard work and dedication of the students and staff showed!

Our students will be planting some maple trees in front of our school next week. We are so excited to keep our program going for years to come.

This morning I got to go over to Dondero for a little bit to check out their own syrup cook and activity. The kids did a maple production simulation to demonstrate the maple syrup process. Parents came to help monitor the evaporator and keep the cooking process going. It was a beautiful day.

Maple Sugaring at School

Now that maple season is over I wanted to take some time to try and make some maple candy. I made another batch of the maple caramels (which might be my new favorite thing) and tried maple candy for the first time. Actually came out pretty good. May have something to add to our maple sales next season.

The maple students did their fina task of the season……bucket washing!!! LOL. They did a great job.

Tonight we finished the final batch of the 2026 maple season. Another 2 gallons of liquid gold. We made a total of a little over 12 gallons of syrup this season, two more than last season. Thank you to the RJLA maple class and all the 3rd graders and their teachers that helped to make this program such a success.

Today I got to deliver the maple syrup that was made to all the elementary schools. During my stop at Little Harbour Seals I got to see some of the awesome work that the kids have been doing. Students collect data for their trees and track it on a data table then use a pictograph to demonstrate the number of gallons of sap collected.
