Dumbbell chest fly. Settle it down, put down the big, ego weights and control the movement.


Banded pull-ups -
Banded pull-ups can be a great tool to use to help you get your 1st pull up, BUT they must done correctly to achieve optimal results.
๐Ÿ”ผstart with one foot in band, arms shoulder width apart. Hang all the way down for a FULL extension of arms and shoulders.
๐Ÿ”ผenvision youโ€™re pulling the bar to you; engage core and glutes, and pull up. Doesnโ€™t matter if you donโ€™t reach the bar, engage the back muscles to pull up, hold for a second, and release SLOWLY back down into a full extension of those arms and shoulders again.
๐Ÿ”ผNo half reps, you need full range of motion.
๐Ÿ”ผDo not use momentum from the band to swing you up. (Those were actually hurting my shoulders as I did them)
If you find yourself swinging in the band, tighten your core and slightly retract your shoulders. Everything should be controlled.
๐Ÿ”ผAim to increase reps by one or two each time you do them for progress.

I will be virtually running a 5k this Sunday April 24 for Miles For Migraine. This organization help raises funds, support, and awareness for chronic migraine syndrome.
I struggle with migraines daily and it is very important for people to realize that it is not "just a headache" or "you need to drink more water".
The donations I receive will be donated to the Hartford Headache Center, where I receive my treatments.

Progress is not always about a number; a number on the scale or a number on the weights weโ€™re using.
Iโ€™ve always struggled with squats, honestly they made me nervous. I failed my lift once and it freaked me out.
Iโ€™ve taken a lot of time to really dig into my form and feel comfortable with the weight. I am so happy with how far I have come with my form after doing my research, following form cues, listening to my body, and practice!
THIS IS PROGRESS!! Hitting that extra rep, walking/running and an additional 1/2 mile, getting in an extra set. THATS PROGRESS! Thatโ€™s your new mindset pushing your body! Be proud ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

These dumbass things have been showing up on my newsfeed again so letโ€™s chat again about themโ€ฆ
Why do I strongly dislike and strongly discourage the use of waist trainers? This is why๐Ÿ”ฝ๐Ÿ”ฝ๐Ÿ”ฝ
They do nothing!! โ–ถ๏ธ These belts only work superficially and have a temporary effect. When you wear something thick on your waist, it's natural that you will sweat more from your abdomen, which will make you lose water weight that can make you slimmer temporarily. Itโ€™s literally like youโ€™re skin is peeing. As soon as you take a drink of water after your workout that water you sweated out is being replacedโ—€๏ธ
These belts also make doing a core workout very ineffective. Itโ€™s impossible to have correct form and activate your muscles with an inch of rubber around your waist.
Bottom line - this is a HELL NO. The only thing that will make you lose body fat is a nutritious diet while being in a calorie deficit and MUSCLE gain. -

Itโ€™s about our kids! I preach all day, everyday how exercise DIRECTLY helps our mental health. This is true for kids.
